A two-year-old child and his parents were sentenced to life in a North Korean political prison camp after authorities found a Bible in their home, according to a U.S. State Department report.

The case, dating to 2009, is detailed in the International Religious Freedom Report on North Korea.

The report estimates between 50,000 and 70,000 Christians are imprisoned for possessing religious material or practicing faith.

Inmates in political camps face forced labor, starvation, torture, and denial of fair trials, with children imprisoned alongside adults.

North Korea treats religious belief as a threat to state loyalty, criminalizing possession of Bibles and other religious texts.

Eric Omondi has announced Kilonzo Day, a charity event set to take place at Uhuru Park to raise funds for popular barber Samuel Kilonzo, widely known as Sam Kitiki, who is battling gastrointestinal stromal tumour cancer.

Omondi revealed that he recently travelled to Mombasa to visit Sam and committed to walking with him through his treatment journey while also helping actualize his dream of opening his own barber shop.
The Uhuru Park event will feature a full day of entertainment, including live comedy performances, music sets, DJ mixes, live barber demonstrations, appearances by fellow comedians, musicians, content creators and professional barbers who will be showing solidarity with Sam during the fundraiser.
The funds raised will go towards Sam medical expenses and the setup of his barber shop, which Omondi says will also offer free shaving services to children with autism, people living with cancer and persons with disabilities.

Ibra Dave, a Kalenjin TikToker and KMTC nursing student in Mombasa, recently leaked a WhatsApp chat with her uncle that sparked massive online reactions. Behind the bright smiles she shares online lies a world of struggle and heartbreak. As she confessed, “When you see us smiling y’all don’t know that we’re going through hell and back… we can’t show it or talk about it every time.”
Raised by a mother who has fought tirelessly to educate her children single-handedly after the death of Ibra’s father, Ibra reached out to her uncle, a respected reverend bishop, requesting family money to help pay school fees. Instead of understanding or compassion, she received a cold, astonishing reply: “Plx wajeni ujingaa yenyu… adjust yourself… the journey is still very far… put speed Governor.”
Ibra revealed that her uncle sometimes insulted her mother, taking advantage of the family’s vulnerability and his perceived superiority after her father passed away. Despite the humiliation, Ibra remained humble and polite. She told relatives and critics, “Judge me how you want. I was just asking politely tulipe fee pia sisi.”
Her story has touched many, sparking conversations about family responsibility, empathy, and the silent battles young people endure. Behind every smile may lie pain too deep for words, yet courage keeps them moving forward.

THE UNTOLD STORY OF PERIS ONDARA
A primary school teacher who allegedly hired hitmen to finish her in-laws over property.

On March 2023, Edward Morema and his wife Grace boarded a plane from the US headed back home to Kenya.
But unlike kawaida trips where wazees come to eat kienyeji, fix plots and go back abroad…
This one was different. Very different.
They weren’t coming for vacation. They were coming to fix a family mess that had been boiling since 2021.

The Beginning of the Madness
Their nephew, Dr. Zachary Mosoti, a respected lecturer at USIU, had died mysteriously.
A learned man. Good job. Good money. Good life.
Yet somehow, he was found strangled and half-naked in a bedsitter in Kamulu.
No noise. No witnesses. No answers.
Just death.

And That’s When the War Began…
Zach left behind serious property:
Rentals in Ruai
Land in Umoja
Projects still under construction
But more importantly…

He left behind TWO women.
1) Gladys Mosoti – the long-term woman, family-approved, married way back in 1995.
2) Peris Ondara – a primary school teacher from Tala, beautiful, bold… and very determined.
And as usual in Kenya, when a man dies, peace also dies with him.

Why the Family Didn’t Trust Peris
Here’s where things get spicy:
- She wasn’t recognized as a wife
- She skipped Zach’s burial
- She had chased him out of their Ruai home
- Zach died while staying alone in Kamulu
- And she was already rumored to be “problematic”
To the family, Peris was bad news wrapped in lipstick.
But since they couldn’t prove anything, they decided to fight her legally.
Enter… Edward & Grace – the elders sent to protect the estate.

Court Battles & Growing Bitterness
Peris wanted full control of the property. The family said HAPANA.
She said:
“Hizi nyumba nilijenga. Watoto wangu walisomea hapa.”
Family said:
“Madam, hata marriage certificate hatujaona.”
Things went left.
Chief refused to give her admin letters. Court sided with Gladys. Family locked her out.
And that’s when frustration tur

Back in the day, when people didn't know much about the sea, going on a sea trip was both exciting and dangerous. John Hartnell was part of the Franklin Expedition in 1845. They wanted to find a quick way to Asia for British trade. But after leaving England in May, they never came back.
It wasn't until the 1980s that an anthropologist found some of the buried bodies on an icy island in Canada. Hartnell's face, frozen in fear, is one of the scariest pictures from those times at sea.
Many of the crew members of the Franklin Expedition died from exposure, starvation, and disease as they became trapped in the ice of the Canadian Arctic.

Two Feared Dead After Chaos Erupts at Kasarani During Raila Odinga’s Body Viewing

Two people are feared dead after chaos broke out at Kasarani Stadium during the public viewing of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s body

According to witnesses, the incident occurred after police opened fire while dispersing large crowds that had gathered both inside and outside the stadium. The situation reportedly escalated when mourners attempted to force their way into the venue, prompting officers to use tear gas to control the crowd.

What was meant to be a solemn national event quickly turned tragic as panic and confusion engulfed the area.
