For many military spouses a camera proves to be an incredible tool to tell stories and, lets face it, make a a second income. Last week I was invited by a good friend Hitomi Moody to her husband’s promotion ceremony to practice my events and people photography as well as witness my very first promotion ceremony as a fairly new milspouse.

As I began editing the remaining photos (post culling), I noticed that each smile, salute and silly face would come to be a part of this important memory and ceremony. The final ceremony and promotion they would have here in South Korea before their upcoming pcs.

Best of luck to the Moody family and a big congratulations of the promotion 💐🎊

One thing I’ve learnt as a photographer who’s only just begun learning is that you don’t need to go all out to find the most incredible backdrops for your photos.

Whilst my friends and I were at a picnic I took these by the area, I loved the greenery around us and the bloom that was quietly appearing. They made for stunning golden hour, meadow photos !!

Last year my husband surprised me with a date…over the city of NEW YORK !!!

As I reflected back on that memory,
I recognised a connection between our experience and lessons of love and marriage which I captured in the form of my beloved (by myself) substack essay as well as these photos.
