Feast of St. Marcellin Champagnat

Today, we joyfully celebrate the feast of St. Marcellin Champagnat, the visionary founder of the Marist Brothers and a dedicated educator who devoted his life to the formation of young people.

Inspired by his motto, “To educate children, you must love them and love them all equally,” we at Maris Stella College, Thimbirigaskatuwa, renew our commitment to nurturing minds, hearts, and values in the Marist tradition.

May the life and example of St. Marcellin Champagnat continue to inspire our students, staff, parents, and alumni to live with faith, humility, service, and compassion.

We are proud to celebrate your outstanding achievement of securing 2nd Place among 26 schools at the Pooja Vesak Kalapaya – Katunayake.

Maris Stella College – Thimbirigaskatuwa proudly congratulates our talented athletes, Thehara Ravishka and Disara Herath, who represented Sri Lanka at the 2026 Asian Under-20 Athletics Championships held in Hong Kong.

Competing against some of the best young athletes in Asia, Thehara Ravishka achieved an impressive 4th place in the Triple Jump event, while Disara Herath secured 4th place in the Long Jump event. Their outstanding performances have brought great honor to our nation and immense pride to our college.
This morning, upon their arrival in Sri Lanka, our Principal warmly welcomed and felicitated them in recognition of their remarkable achievements and their dedication, commitment, and excellence in athletics.
We are proud of their accomplishments and wish them continued success as they strive for even greater heights in the future.

Congratulations, MSCT! 🏑🎉

Our college proudly secured Third Place in Division B of the Sri Lanka Schools Under-20 Hockey Tournament, organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Hockey Association.

As a result of this achievement, the team has qualified to compete in Division A next year.

This marks a historic milestone, as it was the first time that a hockey team from our college participated in a Sri Lankan Schools Under-20 tournament.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the coaches who trained and guided the team, as well as to the teachers in charge of the team, Mr. Devsh*tha and Mr. Chamath, for their dedication and commitment. The school highly appreciates their invaluable contribution to this success.

The Prefects’ Induction Ceremony 2026 of Maris Stella College, Thimbirigaskatuwa, was a proud occasion that celebrated leadership, discipline, and responsibility. The ceremony marked the official appointment of the new Head Prefect, Master Devin Saddasena; Deputy Head Prefects, Master Nadev Nimnath and Master Luveen Brian; together with the Senior Prefects entrusted with serving the school community with dedication and integrity.
The event was held with great dignity in the presence of the Principal, Deputy Principals, Sectional Heads, Association leaders, teachers, students, and proud parents, adding prestige and honour to the ceremony.
As the newly inducted prefects stepped forward with confidence and determination, the ceremony reflected the spirit of young leadership and the bright future of Maris Stella College, Thimbirigaskatuwa.
