Famous carpets from Morocco traditionally hand-made by women in each Berber family, a hundred year old tradition still kept among families, transferred from

generation to generation, from mother to daughter. Original sheep wool, couloured with natural colours, countless hours of work, traditional technique and a lot of dedication and love put in it, make each carpet a unique piece of art. Let the soul of Berbers fill your home with its spirit, the spirit of desert, tradition and wisdom. Berber carpets are the most valuable part of Berber tradition and culture. With their designs and colours they reflect the features of the environment, with their motifs and symbols they tell the stories and secrets of the daily life of Berber people. The process begins with shearing the wool, that is then washed, hung to dry and a few weeks later dry wool is carded and dyed naturally - various flowers, leaves, fruit and dried insects are collected and boiled with the wool, colours are fixed with rock salt or alum. Pomegranate skin, saffron and broom flowers make up the yellow tint, madder root produces red, mint for green, henna leaves for orange, tea, to***co or crushed walnut shell for brown and black. The weaving then begins. Berber carpets also called looped carpets, with its characteristic high loops, they are more durable and easier to clean then the cut loops, famous for its stain resistance, easy to clean, Berber carpets are popular world-wide and used for all areas of the home.
