I'm not really sure but this might be either an Orchid Bee or a Green Sweat Bee... Either way, its an important pollinator and quite a jewel. I love the metallic green colour on it's little body!
By the way did you know that Orquid Bees are expert perfume makers? The males are known to search for and collect different floral scents on their hind legs to attract females, I mean, who doesn't like their man to smell good?! 🐝🧴🫦

Wasps generally have a bad reputation and well they don't exactly have a cutesy look about them (just look at that death stare!)😈. They're not really pollinators and they tend to be a bit more agressive than we'd like 😅. But they do play a very special role in the ecosystem. For those of you that don't like pests and spiders, well wasps can help get rid of the problem, of course you'd have to be willing to get stung once in a while!
(And of course this is a joke, the only time I've been stung by a wasp is when one of my cousins accidentally kicked a football into their nest... to be fair I'd have gotten pretty mad if some kid hit my house with a ball and broke a couple of windows 🤣)

I mean… just look at this guy! 😍
It stared straight at me and posed like it knew it was being photographed.
Like with every bug I find I image searched this little model on google lens aaand...nothing convincing. 😕 A few similar-ish beetles, but nothing that made me go “yep, that’s the one.”
Now, I’m definitely no expert, but here’s the cool thing: beetles are one of the most diverse groups of animals on Earth. There are hundreds of thousands of species and many haven’t even been properly identified yet.
So who knows 🤷‍♀️ the next time you come across a weird little bug that doesn’t quite match anything online… you might be looking at something not many people have ever noticed before 👀
Or maybe this little guy is just very good at keeping his identity a secret 😅

I finally decided to create a separate page for my passion for macro photography—welcome!

This page is a small selection of the many photos I’ve taken of the tiny creatures we share our world with –beetles, ladybirds, spiders, mosquitoes, and many others often overlooked or misunderstood.

I’m drawn to them for their color, shape, and personality. Through these images, I hope to invite you to take a closer look and discover the beauty in what is often dismissed or even feared.

I’m not an entomologist, just someone fascinated by these small lives and their role in nature. If this page helps you feel even a little more curiosity or appreciation for the next bug you see, then I’ve done what I set out to do!

Por fin decidí crear una página aparte para mi pasión por la fotografía macro ¡bienvenidos!

Esta página reúne una pequeña selección de las muchas fotos que he tomado de las pequeñas criaturas con las que compartimos el mundo: escarabajos, catarinas, arañas, mosquitos y muchas otras que suelen pasar desapercibidas o que son repudiadas.

Me gustan por su color, su forma y personalidad. A través de mis fotos, quiero invitarlos a mirar más de cerca y descubrir la belleza en aquello que a menudo se descarta… o incluso se teme.
