Hello from KUALA LUMPUR!
Join us for the Malaysia Day Nationwide Photowalk, where we're celebrating what truly makes our nation unique: its people. Whether you're a seasoned photographer or just someone with a smartphone, everyone’s welcome to explore and capture the incredible lives of ordinary Malaysians.
Let’s reconnect with Malaysia Day and enjoy photowalking as a fun and healthy way to experience our surroundings. You might be wondering what this photowalk is all about. It started as a personal project last year for Malaysia Day’s 60th Anniversary, taking me across 50 locations in 12 states. Along the way, I realized that Malaysia is about more than just the Twin Towers, our stunning beaches, or breathtaking landscapes. It’s about the people you meet on the streets—like those in Chow Kit, one of Kuala Lumpur's most vibrant and historic areas. Known for its bustling markets and diverse communities, Chow Kit has been a melting pot of cultures and stories since the early days of Malaysia's independence.
For the past 60 years, ordinary Malaysians have faced challenges and changes yet continue to live proudly, raising families, and giving their best. We all lead extraordinary lives in our diverse, united communities.
Here’s why you should join us:
1. Celebrate Together: I want to invite all Malaysians to celebrate through this photowalk.
2. Remember Malaysia Day: Many have forgotten its significance, and I hope to rekindle our appreciation for this special day.
3. Promote Photowalking: It's a great way to stay healthy, meet fellow Malaysians, and see the beauty of our country—the people, the places, and the practices.
Come join us and discover the amazing stories right around the corner!
