So this trip I had to pretend I was just a tourist. Couldn't let her know there was a photographer in the car, or the whole surprise was blown. Ben drove us out to Sandwich Harbour, took us to some incredible viewpoints, ended up with landscape shots too while I was "just enjoying the scenery". Then the proposal happened and well, that's when I had to come clean. 4-5 hours together, mostly in the car, well, Hilux bakkie, and by the end of the trip we felt like we'd known them forever. 💍

Not every session needs a lot of direction. Ruth is a professional model from Switzerland, and the minute she stepped onto the Swakopmund dunes in that blue dress, she just knew what to do.
I mostly stayed out of her way.

This family came to Namibia for a holiday and did a shoot with me out in the dunes. It was one of those unusual days where the sun was setting over the Atlantic in the west, there was a full rainbow in the east, and somewhere far off in the distance a hot air balloon was drifting through. All at the same time. I've done a lot of shoots out here and that doesn't happen often.
