100k is the new 10k

You don't have to blame yourself for your anger issues these trying moments as an adult living in Nigeria.

The prevailing economy is also contributing to your anger issues imperceptibly

To build a standard 2-3 bedroom house in Nigeria today, you need at least N20-30m, depending on your bank balance and taste/choice for finishing including furnishing.

If I’m left with a choice of house and a car, I’ll surely go for a car first.

Till date, I still wonder why people always try to kill themselves about building a house that they’ll live in. Don’t get me wrong, building your own house is very important, but not when I’m still coming up.

If I can’t build 3 of those house at once, I’ll continue staying in a rented apartment!

Building a house of N20m to live in is like tying down a startup capital of N20m, and we all know that N20m house in today’s economy won’t even look that nice, for me I have a very high taste and that’s why I feel 20m house won’t be worth it, I surely know I’ll spend way more than 20m if I’m to build a house, but let’s keep it at 20m.

Now, did you know that using 5m to buy a fairly used car and 14m to startup a business, maybe 1m for rent, you can build a better house in 5 years to come? If you had invested that 20m in a building your personal house and you want to sell that house 5 years after, are you sure you’ll be able to double 20m? I don’t think so….

This is just an example for using 20m o, some people have 100m and are thinking of building a house first, I feel disappointed anytime I hear such. But hey, it’s not my money, everyone has the right to do whatever they wish to do with their money.

Car is a liability but a necessity, but house as well is a necessity but not a must have, just pay that rent and invest in a business…...
You’ll build a better house in 5 years to come that’ll outshine what you would’ve built earlier. Or after investing in a business, you could be building your private house if it’s a must for you gradually, using proceeds you get from your business monthly, in 3years, you could’ve finished building a tasteful house. We all have our priorities….

You can still live very comfortable in a rented apartment and smile home everyday. Don’t be the person that’ll brag about having a personal house and go to bed hungry every night….

My opinion……
