What you see in the final frame is only a fraction of what it took to create it. Long before the camera rolls, we are already reading the room, testing the light, walking through angles, noticing the details and anticipating the moments that matter before they happen.

Most people will only ever see the photograph or the film. They will not see the hundred little decisions behind it, and maybe they should not.

Because when the work is done well, excellence is supposed to feel effortless. That is how we approach every story entrusted to us.

Photography means something different to everyone. For some it’s preserving memory. For some it’s capturing a moment. For some, it’s a craft that’s shaped how they see the world, and themselves, over the years. For a few, it’s the photos they never had growing up, now turned into a reason to never miss one again. For World Photography Day, we asked some of our team to share what it means to them.

This year’s theme is HOME. However photography shows up for you, as a craft, a career, or a way of holding onto people, it starts there.

On the same day our teams were documenting stories in Lagos and Abuja, another was inside the Royal African Society. Leaders from across government, finance, diplomacy and business gathered for an important conversation on Africa’s future. The President of AFC spoke about moving from potential to action, while the Chairperson of the Royal African Society reflected on the power of bringing the right people into the room. Three cities. Three stories. One day.

Some moments deserve more than memories—they deserve to be documented.

It was an honour to document the 50th birthday celebration of Aisha Maina Managing Director of Aquarian Consult, hosted by The Crown Centre for the Representation of Women Institute.

The evening brought together an exceptional gathering of distinguished leaders and changemakers, including Abubakar Bukola Saraki, Dame Winifred Akpani (Chairman, Northwest Petroleum), H.E. Fatima Kyari Mohammed (African Union Permanent Observer to the United Nations), Otunba Jibrin (Director, MRS Oil & Gas Limited), Sen. Abubakar Kyari, CON the Honourable Minister of Agriculture, and many other eminent guests.

It was a celebration of visionary leadership, impact, and five decades of excellence. We are proud to have documented such a remarkable occasion, preserving moments that will be cherished for years to come.
