LET YOUR WORDS PRAISE GOD
MEMORISE
Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth (Deuteronomy 32:1).
READ
Deuteronomy 32:1-4
[1]. "Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
[2]. Let my teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, as raindrops on the tender herb, and as showers on the grass.
[3]. For I proclaim the name of the Lord: ascribe greatness to our God.
[4]. He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; righteous and upright is He.
EXPOSITION
Some tribes and people are known for their talkativeness and sweet words. Some races are peculiarly known for joking with curses as if they were ordinary words. Some are known for vain words. The words of our mouth are either good, or bad. Christians should be known for words of praise to the Trinity. We should recognise that God is good to us at all times and situations. Moses, in today's reading, praised God for all His blessings, despite that God had already insisted that he wouldn't enter the Promised Land. Would you still praise God if you were in his shoes?
Moses asked the heavens to listen to him as he praised God. He was like saying, "Heavens, listen to me as I praise my LORD God, the God of my fathers. Even though I am returning home, I still want to give thanks to Him. So, heavens, please remember my words because God has been faithful to me, and I am faithful and grateful to Him." When you were faced with abuse, delay and denial, what did you leave behind in that place, office, school, family, street, village, town, etc.? Moses didn't become bitter. Instead, he continued to praise God, calling heaven and earth as witnesses. Let us learn to rise above the painful experiences and abuse from others,
