APC National Chairman Inaugurates Governing Council of The Progressive Institute

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has marked a significant milestone in bolstering its policy and ideological framework by inaugurating the Governing Council of The Progressive Institute (TPI).

In a statement released earlier today, APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda announced that he had the honor of personally inaugurating the council at the party's National Secretariat in Abuja, in the presence of members of the National Working Committee (NWC).

This inauguration signifies the completion of the institute's governance process, building on its initial unveiling in September 2024 under the previous leadership of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Established at the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, The Progressive Institute is envisioned as the party's intellectual backbone, think tank, and policy resource center. It aims to deepen ideological foundations, enhance research efforts, and foster evidence-based governance—not only within the APC but throughout Nigeria's political ecosystem.

The institute is fully registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and has received approvals from the Federal Ministry of Education and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), demonstrating strict adherence to legal standards and underscoring the APC's dedication to transparency, institutional integrity, and the rule of law.

Key mandates of The Progressive Institute include:

- Driving policy research and publications
- Organizing national and international conferences and trainings
- Building leadership and institutional capacity within the party
- Strengthening ideology, governance, and democratic culture
- Serving as the institutional memory of the APC

As Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Yilwatda assured Nigerians of the party leadership's unwavering commitment to developing the institute into a world-class political and policy entity. He congratulated the council members on their appointments and commended their dedication to the progressive agenda.

GAGDI BRINGS SUCCOUR TO VICTIMS OF INSECURITY IN GARGA AREA, DISTRIBUTES RELIEF MATERIALS

In fulfilment of my donation to support victims of kidnapping, banditry, and other security challenges in the Garga area, relief materials valued at over ₦40 million have been procured and are set for distribution to the affected persons.

In the interest of transparency and accountability, below is the detailed breakdown of the items to be distributed:
1. 300 bags of rice (25kg each)
2. 300 bags of beans (25kg each)
3. 300 bags of maize (25kg each)
4. 30 cartons of seasoning cubes
5. 30 cartons of tomato paste (50 sachets per carton)
6. 30 cartons of vegetable oil (5 litres × 4 per carton)
7. 30 bags of iodized salt
8. 300 blankets
9. 300 pieces of guinea brocade (5 yards each)
10. 300 pieces of wax print
11. 900 bags of cement
12. 5 motorcycles
13. Clothing for children

A comprehensive list of affected victims has been compiled by a duly constituted committee chaired by Hon. Sadat Garga, with Buhari Zakari serving as Secretary, and Hon. Yahuza Yusuf Musa, Chairman of the Jahr Progressive Development Association (JAPDA). The committee operates under the supervision of the Senior District Head of Garga and the District Heads of Munbutbo and Kyaram. Its mandate is to ensure that all items are distributed strictly to verified victims.

To the people of Garga, no amount of relief material can replace the peace and security of our land. I therefore reaffirm my unwavering commitment to the people of Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam Federal Constituency to continue engaging the relevant authorities and pressing government to ensure that our people, communities, and properties are adequately protected.
