I Came for NYSC, Not the Army."
She arrived at the NYSC orientation camp full of excitement, ready to serve her country, make new friends, and begin a new chapter of life.
But after days of endless drills, military-style exercises, early morning parades, and exhausting physical training, her excitement slowly turned into disappointment. She had imagined learning, networking, and community service—not feeling like she had enlisted in the military.
With tears in her eyes and a heavy heart, she quietly packed her bags. As she walked toward the camp gate, she whispered, "I came here to serve my country, not to become a soldier."
Sometimes, reality is very different from our expectations.

MY WIFE EATS RAW MEAT For nine years of marriage, my wife had one strange, unchanging habit—she never went to the market. No matter the circumstance, she always found an excuse. Even her mother stood firmly behind her, as if there was nothing unusual about it. Yet at home, she was an exceptional cook. Her meals were always rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. I never questioned it… until that Sunday.
The children had gone to church with a neighbor, leaving the house unusually quiet. I decided to visit the market myself and returned with fresh food items. Handing them over to my wife, I expected nothing out of the ordinary as she began preparing the meal.
After a few minutes, I walked into the kitchen to join her.
What I saw froze me in place.
Standing there, calm and completely unaware of my presence, my wife was eating the meat—raw. No seasoning, no cooking, no hesitation. Just tearing into it as if it were normal.
In that moment, everything I thought I knew about her shifted into something far more unsettling.
