Here's the most phenomenal nurse I've ever met.
This photo series tells the story of one whom I've mirrored wisdom, courage, and a deep hunger for excellence from. It's still puzzling to me that after your successful first degree as a dental therapist, you prudently sourced out ways to begin funding another degree in Nursing Science. You silently advanced in your dream and only made it known to us when it was already too late to discourage you. The University of Maiduguri is 1,270 miles away from home and situated in the state with the largest military deployment for the fight against terrorism at the time. Maiduguri to me sounded like a war front, and when you told me that was where you'd decided to do your studies, one of your reasons being that you wanted to learn where you could possibly meet the worst and the best cases, I knew you wanted to learn indeed. I kept a numb face, but I was deeply afraid. My fear quickly ceased when I couldn't read any fear on your very beautiful face. Then I was convinced there was a big spirit behind your guts, my effortlessly calm and courageous sister.
I remember the day I dressed up to go for my first practical class in photography. I playfully picked a torchlight 🔦 and kept flashing it on you, mimicking photographers. I'm glad I can now flash real strobe lights 📸 on you and make arts out of them. And to celebrate you in the face of the world, my dear Sister, you didn't hit these milestones by luck; you went for them with all you could lay hold on, and I won't talk about the big challenges you faced in this journey. But thanks be to God who helped you.
Congratulations on your successful academic journey to becoming a nurse.
