Dear Mothers, come closer, closer……. Ok that’s enough
Mother’s Day is approaching, and I want to gently remind every mother of something very important.
Stop being only the one behind the camera.
Be in the photos too.
So many mothers spend years capturing everyone else — their children’s smiles, birthdays, first steps, family gatherings — but somehow they are missing from the memories themselves.
One day, these photographs will become time capsules.
Your children will look back at them years from now, searching for pieces of you…
your smile, the way you held them, the way you looked at them with love.
And what they will treasure the most are the moments where you were in the frame with them.
Not perfect.
Not fully dressed up.
Just present.
Because photographs are more than images — they are evidence of love, presence, and shared life.
The recently celebrated International Women’s Day reminded us that women carry generations within them.
We birth them, we nurture them, but we must also live fully inside the story we are creating with them.
Your children deserve memories with you in them.
Years from now, when they flip through albums or scroll through old photographs, those images will whisper:
“This was my mum. She was here. She loved me. We lived life together.”
Mothers, you matter. Your presence matters. Your story matters.
This Mother’s Day, don’t just document life.
Step into the frame.
