The Wife of the Governor of Niger State, Her Excellency Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago, has reaffirmed her commitment to supporting programmes and partnerships aimed at improving maternal, newborn, and child healthcare across Niger State.
Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago made this known while receiving the management team of the Niger State Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), led by its Executive Director, Dr. Junaidu Inuwa, during a courtesy visit at her Office in Minna, ushered by Dr. Aisha Ndaliman who introduced members of the agencyβs management team and highlighted the purpose of the visit.
The Executive Director of the Niger State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Junaidu Inuwa, commended the Wife of the Governor for her consistent humanitarian interventions and support towards maternal and child healthcare programmes in the state.
He disclosed that the agency is preparing for the 2026 Maternal and Child Health Week scheduled to commence on June 1st and sought the support and participation of Her Excellency during the official flag-off of key interventions, including deworming exercises, distribution of Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) for malnourished children, and community sensitization campaigns.
Dr. Junaidu also appreciated Hajiya Fatima Bago for donating over 3,000 professional kits and identity materials to healthcare workers across the state, describing the intervention as a major boost to healthcare delivery and staff morale.
He further congratulated the Wife of the Governor on her recent appointment as a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Dieticians ahead of its 56th National Conference scheduled for August 2026.
Responding, the Wife of the Governor emphasized that primary healthcare remains the foundation of quality healthcare delivery and sustainable community wellbeing, particularly for women and children.
