GUARDING YOUR MIND: WHAT YOU FEED SHAPES YOU
As I always emphasize, NOTHING JUST HAPPENS.
When you see someone—or even yourself—behave in an unexpected way or respond to a situation irrationally, that response didn’t come out of nowhere. It was powered by a thought pattern. And that thought pattern was formed by what the mind has been fed—primarily through the eye gate (what we see) or the ear gate (what we hear).
Much of the confusing or troubling behavior we observe among young people today can be traced back to the kind of content they’ve been consistently exposed to online. The media has normalized many evil and destructive patterns simply by projecting them repeatedly.
The truth is: WHATEVER YOU GIVE YOURSELF TO CONSISTENTLY, WHETHER OR NOT YOU'RE AWARE OF IT, BEGINS TO SHAPE YOUR LIFE.
That’s why we must be vigilant about what we watch, listen to, and dwell on mentally. What enters your mind eventually finds expression in your actions.
BE WATCHFUL.
We are all being formed—either by truth or by deception.
Let’s be intentional about feeding our minds with things that are pure, noble, and edifying (Philippians 4:8). Because your life will always move in the direction of your dominant thoughts.
BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU ALLOW INTO YOUR MIND.
GUARD YOUR GATES. PROTECT YOUR DESTINY.
AFFIRM WITH ME:
“I have the mind of Christ. I fix my thoughts on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. I guard my heart and mind with all diligence, for out of it flows the issues of life. I am daily transformed by the renewing of my mind, and I yield only to what builds me up in God.”
