The thundering rhythm of galloping horses, the sharp crack of mallets, and the electrifying roar of spectators set the stage for a truly prestigious occasion, the Nigerian Armed Forces Remembrance Day Polo Tournament, proudly organized by the Nigerian Army Polo Association at the iconic Abuja Guards Polo Club.

This wasn’t just a game; it was a moving tribute wrapped in elegance, tradition, and sport. As elite polo teams battled it out on the lush green field, the tournament also served as a solemn moment to honor the bravery, sacrifice, and patriotism of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who paid the ultimate price for our peace and security.

Dressed in regal uniforms, gallant riders displayed remarkable skill, precision, and teamwork. a reflection of the discipline and resilience of the Nigerian Armed Forces themselves. The atmosphere blended excitement with reflection, as dignitaries, military officials, polo enthusiasts, and families gathered in unity to celebrate remembrance through sport.

Beyond the competition, the event stood as a powerful reminder: freedom is not free, and the heroes we remember today live forever in our hearts.

From dramatic goals to breathtaking chases, the Abuja Guards Polo Club became more than a sporting arena. it was a place where legacy, loyalty, and national pride rode side by side.

Alhamdulillah

I stood where millions long to stand.
I answered the call of “Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk”,
and You, O Allah, allowed my feet to walk Your sacred ground,
my eyes to behold Your House,
and my heart to bow in complete surrender.

Ya Rabb, as I complete my Umrah, I place everything in Your Hands.
Accept every step I took, every tear that fell, every dua whispered and unspoken.
Forgive my shortcomings, erase my sins, and return me purified like the day I was born.

O Allah, let this Umrah not be the end, but a beginning,
a beginning of a softer heart, a stronger faith,
a tongue that remembers You,
and a life that pleases You.

Grant me steadfastness after the Haram,
humility after the ihram,
and closeness to You even when I am far from Your House.
Accept this act as pure Ibadah,
and write me among those whose duas are never rejected.

O Allah, allow me to return again and again,
and if not in this life, then gather me in Jannatul-Firdaws,
where there is no farewell, no fatigue, only eternal nearness to You.

Rabbanā taqabbal minnā, innaka Anta As-Samīʿul ʿAlīm.
Our Lord, accept from us. Indeed, You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

On this sacred occasion of Eid Al-Adha, my heart is full of gratitude to Allah for blessing my journey and that of my family with the presence of a rare gem like you.

You are not just a boss you are a pillar of strength, a guiding light, and a sheltering shade. Like a father, you have lifted burdens, given counsel, opened doors, and shown compassion when the world seemed cold. Your leadership is marked not just by wisdom, but by warmth; not just by success, but by selflessness.

Every smile my family wears, every prayer that leaves our lips, every step we take forward they all carry a trace of your kindness and generosity. May you never lack the love and honour you so freely give to others.

On this holy day, as the air is filled with the echoes of devotion and sacrifice, I raise my hands and say:

Yaa Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful,

Shower Your infinite mercy and barakah upon Baba. Increase him in imān, in ‘ilm, and in rizq.
Elevate his rank in both dunya and ākhirah.
Grant him sound health, tranquility of heart, and joy that never fades.
Protect him from every unseen harm and every burden too heavy to carry.
Make his home a garden from the gardens of Jannah.
Let his legacy be one that continues to inspire long after his time.
Write his name among those whom You love, and in whose hearts You place love.

And when his time comes, let it meet him in a state of peace, with a heart content and a record heavy with good. Let him be raised under the shade of Your throne, with the Prophets, the righteous, and the truthful.

Ameen, ya Rabb al-‘Alamin.

MATAWALLE'S 100 DAYS OF SECURITY PROGRESS AND NATIONAL DEFENCE IN SUMMARY.

Exactly 100 days ago, Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle MON assumed office as Minister of State for Defence, Federal Republic of Nigeria. Since then, Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle MON has been at his duty post, working assiduously to deliver Peaceful Nigeria as enunciated in RenewedHope Agenda of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinunu for a better and greater Nigeria.

Matawalle began his duty as Minister of State for Defence by visiting Niger-Delta region to rebuild our battered economy, realising that our country was in a difficult situation because of Oil theft that became a galling hole in our public finance, rendering the three tiers of governments insolvent and incapable of meeting the needs of the citizens.

Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle took a bold and courageous decision to revive Defence Industry Cooperation of Nigeria (DICON). Buying military equipments was one of the threads that hung over Nigeria in fighting against terrorists for decades.

While striving to make life better for military officers and their families, The military persons that are either affected by war and injured or even killed, leaving their families behind will be accommodated into FG's social register so that they can benefit from poverty alleviation programmes.

In continuation of his drive to ensure Peace and security, within this Short period of time, Nigeria took delivery of a number of Beechcraft King Air 360ER for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance operations, which were ordered by the federal government in 2022

Within 100 days, Nigeria signed bilateral military relationship with Turkish, United kingdom, Canada, France, Denmark, Indonesia among others. This initiative showcases Nigeria's readiness to collaborate meaningfully for sustainable national Defence and security.

This period may be challenging, but Matawalle has planted the seeds of national Peace and security our appeal to Nigerians is to continue to support the government and show more understanding. We must continue to work hard and confidently press forward to the glory of a greater Nigeria.
