Zermatt & Matterhorn Complete Guide 🇨🇭 | Gornergrat, Riffelsee & More | Swiss Travel Series EP 4

Hello and welcome back to our **Swiss Travel Series! 🇨🇭**
In this episode, we finally explore **Zermatt and the Matterhorn** — and yes, this one is a little longer because we’ve packed it with everything you’d need to plan your **perfect day in Zermatt & around the Matterhorn**. From getting there and exploring the village to Gornergrat, Riffelsee, some useful tips, our experiences and, of course, the complete expenses for the day!
# # # 🚆 REACHING ZERMATT
We started the day by leaving our luggage at **Visp**, where we were staying that night, and then taking the train to Zermatt.
The train journey itself was beautiful, and we also showed you some of the features that make travelling by Swiss trains such a great experience. 😍
# # # 🏔️ EXPLORING ZERMATT
Once we reached Zermatt, it was time to explore the village and take in those first views of the **Matterhorn**.
We wandered around the streets, checked out some famous **Swiss watch stores**, explored different corners of Zermatt and, of course, stopped for lunch at an Indian restaurant — which ended up being our **most expensive lunch in Switzerland! 😂**
# # # 🚞 GORNERGRAT
Next up was one of the biggest highlights of the day — the **Gornergrat Railway**!
We took a one-way ticket with our **Swiss Travel Pass discount**, because our plan was to hike down towards Riffelsee and catch the train back from Rotenboden.
And we also have a small tip for you on **where to sit on the Gornergrat train for better views and clearer shots**. 📸

At Gornergrat, we explored the incredible panoramic views and checked out some of the fun experiences available at the top. 😍
# # # 🥾 GORNERGRAT → RIFFELSEE
Then it was time to hike down towards **Riffelsee**.
The Matterhorn was hiding behind the clouds for quite a while… but slowly, slowly, the clouds started clearing. ☁️
And then we finally got the view we had been waiting for — the **Matterhorn reflecting perfectly in Riffelsee**. ❤️⛰️
Obviously, there was a LOT of photography and video-making involved before we finally did the most important thing…
**We ate the Toblerone! 😂🍫**
# # # 🌙 BACK TO ZERMATT + EXPENSES
After heading back to Zermatt, we explored the village a little more before wrapping up this amazing day.
