THE LEFT EYE
“Women speak two languages - one of which is verbal.”

During a very curious experiment with photographers from both genders it was discovered that women shoot with their left eye more often as opposed to men who use their right one. For almost all of the participants it was a surprise that someone can shoot with an eye different than the one they use.
It is considered that the visual information received by the left eye is processed in the right hemisphere of the human brain and vise versa the right eye is controlled by the left hemisphere.
During the sixties of the last century, the neuropsychologist, a Nobel laureate for medicine, Roger Sperry, proved that the left side is responsible for processing the verbal symbols, for the intellect and the behavioral strategies, whilst the right side is functionally specialized in the visual and abstract thinking, in the process of generalization of the natural sensations and perceptions
In an article by William Henderson it was mentioned that the right eye expresses the behavioral model, which the society expects from us but by the expression of the left eye we can gain understanding about the real inner soul of the person.
We have been searching for centuries for the answers on how the human brain functions. There are many theories; none of which confirmed. Under the delicate veil of the mystery we hear, see and sense the world around us, constantly asking the question whether it is true or a result of inexplicable processes in our mind. Is it true that if our right eye would only see a smudge, then the left eye would see an abstract image, coming from the shadows, angelic or demonic. The modern photographic techniques require from us to close one eye and for a split second to arrange the world in a rectangle with the other eye. For a split second or for hours several women stand behind their cameras in an attempt to catch the energy of women. Inner secrets, dark fears, living faith, gentle emotions, powerful passions and brave dreams find their place in the frame of the viewfinder; arranged in the photographic tales, part of the photo exhibition “The Left Eye”.
