You can say you want to be seen as an expert. But if you don’t see yourself that way yet, it will show.

In the opportunities you don’t go for.
The opinions you hesitate to share.
The prices you’re uncomfortable asking.
Even in the photos of yourself you choose.

That’s why I think self-image and personal branding are much more connected than we often realise.

We spend a lot of time thinking about how we want others to see us. But what about the way we see ourselves?

Because you can have the strategy, the photos and the content but if part of you is still thinking “I’m not there yet”, you will keep holding yourself back.

You don’t need to create a new identity.

Sometimes you simply need to start seeing what’s already there.

For a long time, I thought confidence was something you either had or you didn't.

I definitely thought I didn't.

But over the years, I realised how much the way I saw myself was influencing the way I showed up, in my work, in my relationships, and eventually in my personal brand.

Changing that didn't happen overnight. But I started giving myself different labels. And slowly, I started becoming a different version of myself.

That's also why identity and self-image are becoming such an important part of the work I do with personal branding.

Because sometimes it's not your strategy that needs to change first. It's how you see yourself.

Some people enter your professional life for one chapter… and then, unexpectedly, appear again in a completely different one.

I met Dorota years ago through Polish Professional Women in the Netherlands, an association bringing together Polish women building their professional lives and businesses in the Netherlands.

At the time, Dorota was the chairwoman and I was part of her board, responsible for media. When Dorota decided it was time for new challenges, I decided to put myself forward for the role and I was chosen to become the next chairwoman.

It was an important chapter in my life, and also where many wonderful professional relationships began.

Since then, life has taken us in different directions. Dorota moved first to Denmark and later to Warsaw, which happens to be my hometown.

And this summer, our paths crossed again. This time not at a board meeting or an event, but at a photoshoot in Warsaw. 📸

I love this about entrepreneurship.

You meet so many interesting people. You work together, exchange ideas, move to different countries, start new projects… and you never really know when your paths might cross again or what you might create together next.

Today, Dorota works with destination weddings. I photograph people, have recently been stepping more into wedding photography too, and absolutely love travelling. So who knows where our paths might take us next. ✈️

For now, I’m simply very happy they brought us together again in Warsaw and that we created these beautiful images together.

Stay curious. Meet people. Build genuine relationships.

You never know where they might lead. 🤍

Yesterday was my birthday.

First of all, thank you so much to everyone who sent me birthday wishes, messages and took the time to think of me. ❤️

Somehow, this birthday felt a little different.

Birthdays are usually about celebrating another year, making plans and thinking about what’s next.

But after everything that has happened with my cousin Michał over the past few months, I’ve been thinking much more about how fragile life really is. How quickly things can change, and how easily we take ordinary days, our health and time with the people we love for granted.

This year, more than anything, I’m grateful for the people around me and for another year of life.

And if you’d still like to give me a little birthday something, please consider putting it towards Michał’s fundraiser instead. 💙

I think we sometimes focus too much on finding the next tool, the next strategy or the next thing that will make our brand stand out. But the truth is, most of our competitors have access to exactly the same things we do. They can use the same AI, the same Canva templates, the same platforms and even follow the same trends.

What they don’t have is you.

Your experience, your personality, your point of view and the way you connect with people are things nobody else can copy. And I think this is something we sometimes forget when building a personal brand.

You don’t always need to come up with something completely new or try harder to be different. Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is show more of who you actually are.

Because your personal brand becomes much stronger when people can recognise you in it.
