Bergen appers from the grey shadows and shines bright in the spring sun with 12 °C. From a lunch walk along Fjellveien. Sometimes the best views don’t require a tough hike. Just fresh air, good shoes, and taking your time. Fjellveien — meaning “Mountain Way” in English — is a path that runs along the mountains Sandviksfjellet and Fløyen, right above Bergen city centre. The full trail stretches 4.6 km, from Munkebotn in Sandviken all the way to the historic Bellevue Restaurant, with an elevation difference of just 133 metres — making it one of the flattest walks in Bergen.
Along the path you pass historical farms, old industrial structures, wooden houses and gardens — and one of the highlights is Mon Plaisir, an old viewpoint “temple” built in 1836.
It’s a popular path for all ages — joggers, couples, and families with prams alike — and connects to longer trails up to Fløyen, Sandviksfjellet, and Rundemanen. (Source Claude search) MountainWalk NordicLife Wanderlust NatureLovers BergenViews
