Last week our tamariki have been busy celebrating the special fathers and father figures in their lives in preparation for Father’s Day.

The children enjoyed taking part in a range of Father’s Day activities, creating special gifts and engaging in meaningful experiences to show their love and appreciation.

One of the highlights of the week was our baking activity, where the children enthusiastically helped to prepare delicious treats. They enjoyed exploring the ingredients, mixing, and participating in the baking process alongside their teachers and friends.

To finish our celebrations, we held a special Father’s Day Afternoon Tea. It was wonderful to welcome fathers and father figures into our centre and celebrate the important role they play in the lives of our tamariki. The children were excited to share this special occasion with their loved ones and enjoy quality time together.

Thank you to all the fathers and father figures who joined us. We hope you enjoyed the special afternoon and felt appreciated for being such wonderful role models in our tamariki’s lives. 💙

🌼 Filipino Language Week & Daffodil Day 🇵🇭💛

Last week was filled with exciting cultural experiences and meaningful learning as we celebrated Filipino Language Week. Tamariki had the opportunity to learn more about Filipino culture through hands-on experiences. We made and enjoyed a traditional Filipino dish, cassava cake, and had lots of fun participating in Filipino games. Tamariki and kaiako also embraced the celebration by dressing in beautiful Filipino attire, creating a wonderful sense of belonging and connection to culture.

We also celebrated Daffodil Day, supporting awareness and kindness within our learning community. Tamariki participated in a variety of fun and creative activities throughout the day. Everyone was encouraged to wear yellow to help mark this special occasion. It was lovely to see tamariki and kaiako coming together, showing enthusiasm, kindness, and support while learning about the importance of helping others.

It was a wonderful week of culture, connection, creativity, and community, with tamariki enjoying opportunities to learn through play, shared experiences, and celebration. 🌼🇵🇭💛

🇹🇴 Celebrating Tongan Language Week 🇹🇴

Last week, the children celebrated Tongan Language Week through a range of fun and engaging cultural experiences. The children explored the Tongan artefacts displayed in our learning environment, showing curiosity and interest as they looked closely at the different items and learned about their cultural significance.

The children also enjoyed painting traditional Tongan designs, creating colourful artwork inspired by the patterns and designs they observed. They had fun making Tongan fans and participating in other creative art activities, using their imagination and developing their fine-motor skills.

It was a wonderful week of learning, creativity and cultural exploration, giving our tamariki opportunities to experience and appreciate Tongan language and culture through hands-on experiences. ❤️

Our tamariki enjoyed a range of fun, hands‑on learning experiences. 🖌🎨

They explored sensory play, discovering new textures and materials through touch and curiosity. Our art activities were full of colour and creativity as the children painted patterns, mixed colours, and experimented with their own designs.

These moments helped our tamariki grow, explore and express themselves through the simple joy of play.

Our tamariki became young scientists last week as they explored a range of exciting, hands-on science experiments! ✨

From discovering what happens when oil and water are mixed, to watching a volcano erupt and experimenting with bubbles - our tamariki explored science through curiosity, observation and play.
