It happened again last weekend - I'm out taking photographs and someone says "ooooh what a nice camera/lens, I bet you take great photos with that!" Now I either try to ignore this sort of comment or I'll usually try to be nice and say things like - "All cameras take photographs but for a great photograph. It's about the skills of the person and their 'creative eye' that will make a great photograph. Having a camera like this means when I do take a great photograph, I can make it HUGE". Yeah, I know, sort of tongue in cheek response....but the question is actually innane

BUT!!!!! I just saw something that's an awesome one-liner in the same vein that describes the silliness of that sort of question - could be a great retort in the right circumstances...'Nice pen, bet you write good stories with it.'

I just thought I would share that line with you and maybe one day, you can use it as an answer when the next person suggests that the camera takes great photos and not the person controlling it. Happy shooting everybody :)

Did a shoot for The Exercise Room (http://theexerciseroom.co.nz/) where the shots are a little less traditional and couloured slightly differently too. It was really quite difficult as there are mirrors everywhere reflecting either the person I was shooting, me or usually - the lights. Anyway, here's a small selection :)

Did a fun shoot at The Exercise Room http://theexerciseroom.co.nz/ (a really great gym). Used some different colours and lighting as well as some more traditional gym type images. The toughest thing about this shoot were the mirrors...they were everywhere reflecting either the person, me or the lights. But the guys at The Exercise room were great and they love their new shots. Here's just a couple :)

You know when someone looks at your gear and says..."I bet you get nice photos with that!", you want to stand there and tell them its about the eye and the skill and the creativity behind the camera that makes a "nice photo". Well I just read a beauty. Not quite a comeback line although you could use it if you wanted..."nice pen, I bet you can write great stories with that".

Sometimes it's just the little things like that which make your day :)
