Landscape Photography is not really my strongpoint. In an effort to continue learning, I went to Huia with a good friend from Henderson Photographic Society and she worked with me to get these two images. I entered them into Henderson Photographic Societies Landscape competition.

The first image was taken from a bridge over Marama Stream. I love the movement in this image and the oranges and greens.

The second image was taken from Huia Point. The weather had been absolutely awful with strong wind and rain. As I looked out to the mouth of the Manukau Harbour, I was struck by the wild patterns in the clouds.

Our June competition was a triptych competition. Triptych means:
a set of three associated artistic, literary, or musical works intended to be appreciated together.

Our second competition of the year was Natural History. A competition I rarely do well in.
My entries this year included two images I took in Tanzania about 10 years ago.

Our first photo club competition of the year was "Song Title". I love this competition as it allows us to be a bit more creative than we might be for a competition like Natural History or Landscape.

For the Kaleidoscope, I wanted to continue my series of photos of Paua Shells used almost like the different colours of cloth in a quilt.

For Blue Haze, I used one of my coasters made of blue beads, hung it on my window and photographed it with a slow shutter speed as I spun the coaster.

My entries were titled "Kaleidoscope by A Great Big World" and "Blue Haze by Miles Davis"
