I had the very talented Mia Manston and her family in the studio ahead of a pretty exciting trip north.

Mia is heading to Motocross Nationals this month, and after recently recovering from a pretty significant injury, getting back to this point is an achievement in itself.

There is something really inspiring about seeing that kind of resilience. Getting back on the bike, rebuilding confidence, and still setting your sights on something this big takes a lot.

With fundraising underway to help make the trip possible, they wanted some photos to mark this chapter and celebrate just how far she has come.

All the best for Nationals, Mia. Clutha is cheering you on.

It is always so special when I get to catch up with these two! It has felt more like catching up with friends and family, ever since our first sessions together when Franklin was just a baby!

Alex and Franklin were coming down to Balclutha for a birthday party and wanted to squeeze in a wee photo update while they were here. We headed to the Clutha Riverside, where Franklin took us on an adventure throwing rocks into the river.

Even in the midday sun, these feel pretty magical.

If you think your wee ones are too active, will not sit still, or could not possibly handle a photo shoot, let this be your sign. These sessions can be full of running, sword fights, stones, exploring, and simply letting them be themselves.

You will probably find you have a bit of fun too.

Meet Grace. In fact, you may have already met her.

Grace is local to us here in Clutha, and while she may have cancer, she is so much more than her diagnosis. She is a friend to many, a wife to Brendon, a sister, a daughter, and someone who, when she was diagnosed, had one of her first thoughts be, “But I haven’t even learned how to knit yet!”

So, she's learning how to knit and started her own local craft group!

Grace is now also the face of Cancer Support New Zealand’s latest nationwide campaign, Still Me September. You may see her popping up on social media, or even on your television.

The message behind the campaign is simple but important. Cancer may change so much, but the person at the centre of it is still here. Still worthy of being seen. Still themselves.

If you would like to support people just like Grace and the work Cancer Support New Zealand does, head over to https://stillme.org.nz/ to learn more. Whether you can donate, share the campaign, or even just like their posts, it all helps.

Oh, and the photos and videos you see throughout the campaign were created right here in the Storybridge studio through a team effort between Grace, the team at Cancer Support New Zealand, and me. I am incredibly proud to have played a small part in sharing Grace’s story.

Caci & Josh 🤍 Part Two | When the Clouds Rolled In.

In June we braved an early morning down at Kākā Point to capture this next stage for Caci & Josh.

There was a bit of drizzle before the sun started rising over the water, and then the magic happened. The sun absolutely streamed down the beach, making for not only beautiful photos, but such a beautiful memory of this season.

I cannot really describe it, but Caci can attest that we were genuinely giddy with how surreal and beautiful it all felt.

By the end of the session, the clouds had started rolling in and softened everything into the most stunning blues and creams.

Morning sessions are not for the faint of heart, but boy do they pay off here on the east coast of our beautiful country.

I cannot wait to meet your new addition 🤍

If there is something special to you and your day, there will be a way to make it work.

Tori's Dad brought her horses all the way up to Middlemarch to hang out in the paddock opposite their wedding venue, all just for these moments. These slower paced, quiet, genuinely magical sunset moments just for the them.

This is such a strong example of why personal details matter so much. It is not just about finding a beautiful location. It is about creating space for the people, animals, places, and memories that already mean something to you.
