HEY, WEâRE HOLLEY & FIK â¤ď¸
A husband + wife photography duo based in Canterbury capturing weddings, couples, families & beautiful real life chaos.
One of us is a qualified aircraft engineer from Singapore. The other kills bugs for a living and sounds aggressively Australian despite technically being a kiwi. So honestly⌠weâre still not entirely sure how this became a photography business either đ
Now we spend our weekends surviving mainly on Strawberry Vâs, coffee & White Monsters while convincing couples to do mildly unhinged things for photos đ
Photography started as Fikâs thing years ago. Then we had our daughter and suddenly we became those parents. You know the onesâŚ
The parents with 14,000 photos of their child doing absolutely nothing:
- eating yoghurt
- sleeping in weird positions
- holding a random rock like itâs the greatest achievement of her life
- having a full blown tanty because she got handed the wrong fruit bar from the BOX OF THE EXACT SAME BARS đ
And somehow, those are the photos that mean the most to us now.
Not the perfectly posed smiling at the camera ones. The blurry, chaotic, slightly feral little moments that somehow end up meaning everything later đĽšđĽ°
Having her completely changed the way we look at photography. We realised the photos people treasure most usually arenât the âperfectâ ones - theyâre the ones that actually feel like real life.
So weâre not huge on awkward posing, forced smiles or pretending to laugh while staring blankly into the distance đ
Weâd rather make your session feel like hanging out with your mates who just happen to have cameras.
So expect questionable prompts, constant hype from us, your dog getting more attention than you, toddlers running the entire session and us fully embracing the chaos instead of pretending itâs not happening đ
But somewhere amongst all the craziness, weâre also quietly obsessed with the little things - good light, genuine moments and creating photos that actually feel like you.
Because honestly, the best photos usually happen somewhere between the âawwwâ and the âwhat the actual hell is going onâ moments anyway đ
Basically, if you want photographers whoâll hype you up, keep things relaxed and capture the real stuff ⌠hi, weâre probably your people đ
