On Tuesday evening I joined the Christchurch Photographic Society for a street photography walk through the city. 📸🌃

It was a great opportunity to slow down and really look at what was happening around me. I found myself drawn to a mixture of colour, interesting light, reflections and, of course, the people who bring the streets to life.

Street photography is a little different from what I often shoot, and I loved the challenge of simply observing and capturing those fleeting moments as they happened—no posing, no planning, just finding the stories unfolding in front of me.

Another chance to capture the moments that caught my eye, create images from everyday life, and cherish the opportunity to keep exploring and growing with my photography. 💛✨

A glorious day for a wander through the Botanical Gardens today! 🌿🌸☀️

I took the opportunity to have a play with my Lensbaby Sweet 50, this time paired with a macro attachment, and had so much fun exploring the gardens from a different perspective. There’s something special about slowing down, looking closely, and finding the little details that might otherwise be missed.

The images are now ready for the next phase of my portfolio assignment, so fingers crossed they come together just as I’m hoping! 📸✨

Another day of being able to capture the beauty around me, create something new with my camera, and cherish the journey of learning and growing as a photographer. 💛

What a fantastic weekend away in Timaru with the Holden Club of Canterbury! 🚗❤️

Six club cars made the trip down for an overnight adventure, and we were warmly hosted by the South Canterbury Holden Club, who put on a wonderful dinner and even provided a van to shuttle us around. It was such a great way to catch up, meet fellow Holden enthusiasts, and enjoy a weekend surrounded by cars and good company.

After all the worrying about the weather, we were treated to an overcast but thankfully dry day—not too cold, no frost and, most importantly, no rain! There was a fantastic display of cars, including some new ones for me to discover, with the Peter Brock Holden being a particular highlight. 🏁

We also had the opportunity to support Miss Celestial Star as she promoted the upcoming Miss Vintage Australasia competition, coming to Christchurch in September. ✨

A weekend filled with cars, friendship, new experiences and plenty of moments to remember. Another reminder of why I love to capture the moments, create memories, and cherish the friendships and stories that come along with them. 📸💛

A quick visit to the Te Anau Bird Sanctuary (Punanga Manu o Te Anau) turned into a memorable little adventure. 🦜💚

The highlight was seeing the magnificent takahē, one of New Zealand's rarest and most remarkable native birds. It was fascinating to learn that there are only around 300 takahē in existence, with just 130 living in the wild. Seeing these beautiful birds up close was a real privilege and a reminder of how important conservation is.

The sanctuary was also alive with the cheerful chatter of a very vocal kākāriki, a couple of friendly ducks, and the peaceful atmosphere of a lovely wee walk through nature.

For me, photography is about more than simply recording what I see. It's about capturing the beauty of our unique wildlife, creating lasting memories of special places, and cherishing the incredible natural treasures that make New Zealand so extraordinary.

Sometimes the best adventures are the ones shared with family. ❤️

We recently enjoyed a wonderful holiday in Te Anau, spending quality time with fabulous people while surrounded by some of New Zealand's most breathtaking scenery. From peaceful lakes and majestic mountains to ever-changing skies, every moment was a reminder of just how beautiful our country really is.

For me, photography is about more than taking pictures. It's about capturing those fleeting moments of laughter, spectacular landscapes, and the little details that make a trip unforgettable. It's about creating memories that tell the story of our journey, and cherishing those moments for years to come.

Some mornings are worth braving the cold for! ❄️

The Holden Club of Canterbury met bright and early at the Rolly Inn this morning, where the temperature was a frosty -2°C. We were all rugged up, but with clear skies overhead, it looked like it was going to be a cracker of a day.

At 8:00am we hit the road for the Geraldine Matariki Motor Muster, and what a fantastic event it turned out to be! There was an incredible turnout, with an amazing variety of beautifully presented classic, vintage and custom vehicles on display. As promised, the sun came out, the day warmed up, and before long even the jacket came off!

As a photographer, days like these are about more than just the cars. They're about capturing the passion and craftsmanship behind every vehicle, creating lasting memories through photographs, and cherishing the stories, friendships and shared enthusiasm that make these events so special.

Another beautiful morning at the monthly Kustom Breakfast 🚗☀️—and surprisingly, the weather was incredibly mild for this time of year!

As always, there was a fabulous display of stunning vehicles, with this month's special feature shining the spotlight on utes and trucks. From polished classics to beautifully modified workhorses, there was plenty to admire. It was also fantastic to see the Holden Club of Canterbury turning out in force, with a great lineup of Holdens proudly on display.

With no Art Metro today, Callum and I swapped our usual routine for a photo walk around Orana Wildlife Park. 🦓🐅📸

Callum's mission was to visit the zebras, while I was hoping to spend some time with the magnificent tiger. It turned out to be a glorious sunny day, with not too many people around, making it the perfect opportunity to wander at our own pace.

One of the highlights was watching Callum feed the giraffes and enjoy a ride on the shuttle—it was wonderful seeing his excitement. And, as an unexpected bonus, we discovered that Orana's lolly cake is next level... definitely worth trying! 🍰😊

Days like these remind me why I love to capture the joy in everyday adventures, create memories through my photography, and cherish the time spent exploring with good company. Sometimes the best photographs come from simply slowing down and enjoying the journey. 💛✨

A stunning but chilly morning out at the Kustom Breakfast today 🚗❄️☀️

This month's feature was modified British cars, and there were some incredible vehicles on display. From classic styling to creative modifications, there was plenty to admire as we wandered around taking it all in.

The cold start was soon forgotten thanks to a delicious bacon and egg buttie, which provided the perfect fuel to explore the event and photograph some of the amazing cars. It was also fantastic to see such a great turnout from the Holden Club of Canterbury, with 9 club cars making the trip along.

From the moment a stone meets the surface to the calm beneath a bridge, this series reminds me that power doesn’t always roar; sometimes it whispers.💧 Power With Water — a study in motion, stillness, and connection.
