Had the privilege of photographing a genuinely special moment at the Hilton in Taupo.
The District Grand Lodge of North Island New Zealand presented Mike King from 'I Am Hope' with a cheque for $80,000. A huge contribution toward youth mental health support and counselling services across the country.
It's easy to think of Freemasonry as ceremony and tradition (and there's plenty of that too), but moments like this are a reminder of the real, tangible impact these organisations have in their communities. $80,000 towards an organisation doing life saving work for young Kiwis is huge.
Grateful to have been behind the camera for it.

There’s something really satisfying about photographing a building that has been designed with so much thought and care.

I recently photographed the brand new Saplings Early Learning centre in Taupō and it was a pleasure to spend time capturing the space. From the light filled learning areas and beautiful natural materials to the welcoming reception and playful details throughout, every part of the centre has been carefully considered. It feels warm, calm and genuinely inviting.

Architectural photography is about more than documenting a building. It’s about showing the atmosphere, the design intent and the experience people will have when they walk through the door. Hopefully these images help tell that story.

Happy to have picked up the bronze medal for my Fish and Chip Guy in the WORLD PHOTOGRAPHIC CUP held in Iceland this year. Each year countries from around the world choose top images to represent their teams and enter. Over the past year or so my work has largely focused on everything New Zealand. Am pretty happy that a team of international judges picked up enough for it to do this well. Thanks to Damian Smith for stepping in for this.
