🌌 One of my favourite aurora photos I’ve ever captured — but it wasn’t taken during the huge aurora events of 2024.
This was actually captured at 2:45am on 27 March 2025, on a night when I wasn’t expecting anything particularly spectacular.
Most of the night had just been a diffuse auroral glow, but later in the night it suddenly came alive with this brief burst. I’d scouted this location previously and had been waiting for the right opportunity to photograph the aurora from here — and thankfully I decided to stay out a little longer that night!
This is a newly re-edited version of the photo. Nothing has been added or artificially created — I’ve simply gone back to the original files and brought out the colour and detail that was already captured by the camera.
It’s still one of my favourite aurora images I’ve taken. 🌌
