Kapiti College Boys and Girls 1st XI playing against Whanganui High-school Boys and Girls 1st XI. Good crowd and good energy despite the way the weather was. The game was a good watch with an unlucky ending to the KC Boys and a better one for the Girls.

Some photos from the WWCC U16 VS Te Whanganui-a-tara Teina game. WWCC U16 batted first and put on 150-10 to defend. The Opening Batsmen for the WWCC U16 boys batted patiently waiting for the bad ball against the swinging new pink ball and the bouncy artificial pitch. Down the order, there was a small collapse which made the final overs of the first innings tricky.

The WWCC U16 Bowling innings started well keeping Te Whanganui-a-tara Teina's opening batsmen scoring slowly in the first 8 overs of the game. Once the opening spell was finished the spinners came on and took some wickets but also boosted their run rate when they let the loose one through occasionally.

After the drinks break it was clear that Te Whanganui-a-tara Teina's batters knew they didn't need many runs to win and wanted to end the game quickly. They came out swinging, hitting a few boundaries and singles which ended up winning the game with 3 wickets to spare (150 - 7) in just over 30 overs.

Overall it was a fun game to play and everyone enjoyed playing. We wish you good luck for the tournament in January. Go well the Te Whanganui-a-tara Teina boys.

I want to take a moment to thank our Year 13s, Lachlan Caudle our Wicket keeper and batsman, Logan Murray our Top order Batsman, Na'eem Cupido our opening bowler, and Oliver Jessop our Captain. For their time with the Kapiti College 1st XI and how much effort they put into playing the game. It was great watching and playing with these cricketers while the cricket season was still active. They are great teammates and even better friends, The majority of the time this group of 4 would carry the game for the team in tricky situations when we needed runs or wickets.

On behalf of KC, we wish the best for their cricketing careers, personal journeys, and what they'll be doing in the future. Good luck lads, enjoy adulthood and have a great Christmas and New Year.
