This one is called Veil of Turning. It's a macro of two autumn leaves, both frosted, layered together by chance in a way that looked almost deliberate, like a painting.

It was part of the Arrowtown Autumn Festival Art Exhibition at the Lakes District Museum and is now available as a framed limited edition print. Professionally framed, ready to hang.

If you've been thinking about original art for your home or as a gift, message me. Happy to send more details.

When the frosts arrive I'm out early to meet them. This is a single autumn leaf, found on the ground, completely rimmed in ice crystals. Up close, it looks like something from another planet.

This image is part of a series I've been working on - work that finds the extraordinary in the things we walk past every day. This one is now framed and hanging in the Laneway show at Te Atamira at Remarkables Park, available to take home.

Pop in if you're in Frankton - plenty of great things to rest your eyeballs on.

My iPhone Photography Workshop is on Thursday, 18 June and I have a few spots left.

One day, small group, Arrowtown. You'll leave knowing your phone camera properly - not just the basics, but the stuff that actually changes how your photos look. Composition, light, editing, the works.

It suits small business owners wanting better content, people who just love taking photos, or anyone who's been meaning to do it for ages. Message me to grab a spot, $290, all details at photosbyleigh.net/iphoneography-courses

The official opening of the new Whakatipu Rowing Club building at Lake Hayes was a celebration of the hard working and dedicated community that were determined to make this happen - you are all an inspiration and have created something truely special for current and future generations to benefit from, capturing the official opening was one I was very proud to be at.

Thank you to all the lovely people that came on my Autumn Photo Walk today, it was a frosty cold start turning into a truly stunning morning. We had it all: backlit cottages, frozen puddles, frozen leaves, dancing falling leaves, a bride, whimsical forest, hidden fungi, a crocheted library, new friends, great chat and of course captivating views of our surrounding hills and valleys. Already looking forward to next year! The colours are still stunning out there so if you missed today there is still time to get out there and capture some autumn magic. Message me if you would like a copy of my “Seeing Autumn” photo guide 🍂

I was treated to The Queenstown Darkroom Experience today by Paul Green - not only an exceptional photographer (who I’ve been lucky to learn from in the past) but the owner and operator of this wonderful facility and experience. .photographer
Loading film into a camera, nicely nostalgic, shooting only 20 frames - with intent, considering each precious shot, developing film in true darkroom style, excitement as the images appear and leaving with them on printed contact sheets. This is a true art form and I’m excited to see where Paul takes it. Hopefully he will be in the Darkroom again in February if you are interested - let him know now - he’s going to be busy! Thanks for joining me

I've been trying to find the perfect Arrowtown blossom tree to photograph with this multiple exposure effect - which is your fav, 1 or 2? Do you have a tree in mind that I should capture before these spring winds take care of all the pretty blossom? Ideally the tree would be standing all on its own with very little around it.
