Are you country enough?
Cowgirl enough?

Who decided there was a checklist?

Lately I’ve caught myself second guessing it.
Second guessing who I am.
Where I fit.
If I still belong in the life I love. It got me thinking if others feel and question themselves too.

Is it welding after a full day’s work?
Is it running machinery, planting trees, shifting stock, driving the ute like you were born in it?
Is it building something with your hands — whether that’s fences, gardens, businesses or babies?

What happens when life changes?
When your body changes?
When your work shifts?
When you’re not doing all the things you used to?

Does that make you less country?
Less cowgirl?

Country isn’t aesthetic.
It’s effort.
It’s early mornings or late nights.
It’s sore hands.
It’s starting again when things don’t go to plan.
It’s pride in the dirt under your nails — even if some seasons look different.

And sometimes…
photos are what remind us.

They show us who we’ve been.
They hold who we are right now.
And they quietly capture who we’re becoming —
all meeting in the middle.

That’s why I do what I do.

Burnt Sugar Co is for the welders, the machine operators, the planters, the stock movers, the dog trainers, the farm girls, the tradie wives, the rural business owners, the creative cowgirls rebuilding, reshaping, rediscovering themselves.
