Standing on the slopes of Mt Ruapehu as the sun set in early June - looking out towards Mt Taranaki in the distance

This trip is one I hold dear to my heart.
My health has been so unpredictable this year (and before) and I really didn’t think I’d make it here despite my desires.
Somehow the stars aligned and allowed me a grace period and I took it.
Standing here on my own two feet unaided and surrounded by good friends and like minded people was as beautiful as the images captured that weekend and will stay with me for years to come.

All this to say, when you can - get out there and grab life. It’s worth it !!!!

Had some fun out exploring my local lake front with the lovely Moon Unicorn photography last weekend during her click n collect event

My aim for the day was simply to play with filters and be creative, making art with my images rather than anything technical or formal.

Can’t wait to do it again

Hello all
My gosh it’s been sooo long since I last posted.
I had been rather unwell for several months with fatigue and pain consuming my life.

Thankfully I’m doing good right now
(take the days I get as it’s never a given with these illnesses)

As a result I’ve been able to be out and about again and enjoy capturing some shots.

Here’s a little teaser just to say thanks for sticking around and continuing to support me and my page

Much love
Jesse

Hey all
I’m still here, still alive (mostly)
Life’s been a whirlwind lately and getting images off my camera and edited just never seems to happen.

Appreciate all of you who have stuck around
Hoping to have some time over the weekend to get some goodies loaded here for your visual pleasure

In the meantime a little sunflower goodness to brighten your day

Psssssttt !!!!
You !
Yeah you, the one about to scroll on by!
Can I have your attention just a minute please?

We live in such a fast paced world these days, always searching for the next thing to give us that tiny hit of dopamine to make us feel good.
But I know a secret
✨It’s not the only way !!!!! ✨

If we actually slow down a little, allow our brains to quiet, to think and to feel and to connect with the world around us, we can find even things that feel better than dopamine and likes….
AUTHENTIC CONNECTION

This year I’m stepping back from simply hitting the like button and the wow, stunning, beautiful comments and I’m going to put in effort to be real
I’m going to take time to connect with you, your images, your art, your content
I’m going to leave real comments, ones that uplift and inspire us, I’m going to ask questions that offer insight and allow us both to grow, I’m going to be honest and authentic in my responses.

I want to build more than likes
I want it to more than getting your name out there by interacting with an empty throw away comment on my photos and I want effort
I want to build a community here full of people who genuinley support and uplift their fellow photographers instead of compete against them

Now here’s the thing
I’m going to challenge you to do the same thing
Just try it even for one week and just see what changes.
If you don’t like those kinda comments on your posts and are happier with the empty ones let me know. I don’t want to upset anyone or put in effort where it’s not reciprocated. But if you are here for it then that’s awesome
Let’s see what beautiful thing we can grow !!!

Much love
Jesse ❤️

Things have been a bit quiet from me lately as I’ve been busily packing to move into our first home and then spent the last week away at junior dog training camp with my daughter and our pooches.

Hope the start of the year has gone beautifully for all of you and your starting the year filled with many blessings and things that make you jump for joy, like this beautiful dog with her bubbles.

New year, new growth

Many of you won’t know this but I struggle with ADHD and like many fabulous adhders hop frantically from one obsession to the next. Going down a deep rabbit hole of excitment and research, researching, learning and trying out all the things to do with that subject only to burn out a few months later and loose all interest.
Well photography was that thing for me this year.
I didn’t loose all interest but I did get disheartened and lost the excitment for it. Trying to reach those unobtainable goals which have taken other photographers years and years to learn and achieve.
Discouraged by the harsh critiques of fb photography groups supossidly there for beginners but holding them to ridiculous standards and scrutiny without and actual support and encouragement for those just starting out on their journey.
Trying to maintain FB posting standards and increase my views whilst maintaining a page that still felt true and sincere to me and was actually about the imagery and not just a bunch of likes and false comments to obtain more views for their own pages.
And so I fell away, took a step back from it all and just slowed down.

This year my goal isn’t to grow my page or to engage with everything. It’s not about trying to achieve those unobtainable goals and feeling like a failure. It’s about small realistic goals and steady growth. It’s engaging with the few people who actually mean something and are sincere in their own endeavours. It’s going to be simply about showing up for me!

So yeah I’m still here, still around, still lurking
I’ll still be posting from time to time WHEN I see fit, not when FB says I should.
So if you want real, imperfect, flawed but sincere photography in your feeds and to follow my journey of growth please stick around. And if not then I bid you well on your own journey.

Here’s to 2026 and following your heart ❤️

Much love friends
