A few shots from a recent trip with Fiordland Helicopters

Chalky Island remains one of the best wildlife sanctuaries I’ve had the pleasure of visiting.

Milford Sound Milky Way ✨

I’ve shot Milford Sound many times over the years, but recently I realised I haven’t shot with the star tracker there. So the opportunity came along on a moonless night and I took it!
Memory’s quickly flooded back of how quickly the tide rises here! As you can see, water was all around me by the time I took the foreground shots 😅 Fun times with Kavan Chay!

The Antares Nebula 🌟

We’ve had the absolute clearest nights earlier this week! I wasn't able to leave the house, but I still managed to get the tracker out. I have to admit, sneaking back inside to the warmth was a pretty nice bonus! 😅

This was taken at 135mm @ f 2.2 with only around 20 minutes of exposure time.

Good luck to all the runners tomorrow doing the Fiordland Trails Trust, Hydro Half & 10km!
I'll be on the camera again for Photos4sale, sitting down by the river.

Steve and Gemma 🤍

A few months ago I had the privilege of photographing this stunning autumn wedding. It was held at Stoneridge Estate, just beside Lake Hayes. The breathtaking venue with its stonework, ivy and timber accents seemed even more vibrant when paired with the autumn colours.

The ceremony was led by Charlotte from Your Big Day - Queenstown Wedding Celebrant - she was fun and confident!

We flew with Heliworks Queenstown up to Lake Erskine for photos. Conditions couldn't have been any better. The lake was a vivid blue and there was no wind.

Weddings like this are a dream to shoot!

✨Fiordland Winter Ball 2026 ✨

What an absolute night to remember at the Te Anau Event Centre for the biannual winter ball!

The incredible team at Te Anau Events pulled out all the stops for another unforgettable evening. The hall looked completely stunning from top to bottom.

The drinks were flowing, the energy was high, the band THE YARDMEN kept the dance floor packed all night, and the food from Black Dog Bar was top notch.

It was the ultimate excuse to swap the everyday gear for black tie and let loose for a few hours.

Hope everyone is recovering well today and ready to relive the night through these snaps!

Karitāne Milky Way ✨

Last Saturday required a tough choice: stay home and enjoy a delicious, freshly cooked roast, or chase the stars? I chose the stars, and my Dad came along for the ride.

We arrived to cloudy skies and definitely questioned our life choices for a minute. But after a bit of waiting, it completely cleared up and rewarded us with this view.

Shoutout to Kavan Chay for first showing me this spot in 2025 (when we also got clouded out.) Finally, I got the shot I wanted!
