Journey from the stands to sideline ✅️

Exactly a year ago, I was a fan in the Yellow Fever, reminiscing on what had been the best season I had ever experienced supporting a team in any sport. I didn't think it could get much better. At exactly 12:51pm on Monday 26th of August, 2024, it got better. So much better.

I started this journey back in 2020, purely as a means to try get my head right, during a time where my mental health was at an all time low. I never thought it would ever lead me to an opportunity to work with a professional sports club, let alone the club I have supported since it's inception. As you could imagine, this was probably the easiest yes of my entire life.

Fast forward to now. I have been sideline doing what I love at 14 A-League games, hearing the mighty voice of my closest friends amongst the nix faithful behind me, working alongside some of the most talented and amazing people. While on the pitch, it wasn't what we had all hoped, the fact that I got to live out my photography dream for my boyhood club makes this the best season I've ever experienced, without a shadow of doubt.

To Cam, Ryan, Ben, Pri, Emma, Mark, and the entire team that I've had a pleasure of working with and getting to know over the last 6 months, thank you. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for taking a chance on me. Thank you for allowing me to live out my wildest dreams on the biggest stage of all.

No matter what happens next season, 24/25 will be one that I will never, ever forget 🙌💛🖤

Truly grateful for everyone who has supported me or simply tuned in to my journey behind the lens. This year has by far been the most fun I've had on the tools yet, filled with opportunities I never thought I'd get. Ready to push on and make 2025 even better 😤

Finally, we're up to date!

I'm usually quite the talker, but even after taking a few days to let Saturday really sink in, the only word that comes to mind is... WOW!

If you had told me that I'd attend the first ever NZ A-Leagues derby, the Wellington Phoenix would lose, and I'd not leave feeling like my year had been ruined, I'd have told you, respectfully, to get f**ked. But that's exactly what happened, yet I couldn't wipe the smile off my face.

I can't put into words how amazing of an experience it was to be an official photographer for an A League game, let alone for one of the biggest games in kiwi football history. This has been a dream almost 5 years in the making. Somehow, every moment in my life, every decision, every triumph, and every setback, has led me here.

Doing what I love in front of 26,000 people. I seriously couldn't be happier.

The NZ National League Championship phase is (finally) underway!

Southern champions Cashmere Technical made the brisk flight up to the capital for round 1, coming up against Capital Football runners up Western Suburbs. While the hosts ran the game in patches, they were outclassed overall by the relentlessness of the Cantab powerhouses' attacking prowess.

Tech join Napier City Rovers at the helm after the first round, after both hit their opponents for 4. However, it was a quiet day for the other Central sides, with no teams from Wellington mustering a win from their first outings. Round 2 promises to bring down the roof, with the two bookies favourites, Wellington Olympic and Auckland City, clashing at Martin Luckie Park this Saturday at 3pm.
