I took this photo during the shared path project along Cobham Drive and I still love the lizards facial expression. It almost looks like it knows it’s being well looked after.

Our native lizards (skinks and geckos) are fully protected under the Wildlife Act 1953 and that means they can’t be harmed or disturbed without approval from the DOC.

So when Wellington City Council was carrying out work on the shared path, specialist ecologists carefully captured and relocated the lizards to a safe habitat while the project was underway.

One of my favourite portraits - Baby in hat

I recently photographed this beautiful māma-to-be at a location deeply meaningful to her and her whānau 🤍 When we arrived, the wind was absolutely wild, so we quickly abandoned our original spot on the wharf and went searching for shelter.

This little gem was captured tucked beside another beach building, patiently waiting for those fleeting moments when the wind shifted just right and the sun softened behind the clouds.

I’m grateful for the amazing prople I get to work with including this patient māma who embraced the elements, and for my friend and fellow photographer Neil Price for manning the light.
