Lest we forget… 🙏🏽

For years, our families from Tsewi have depended on makeshift bamboo rafts to transport coffee and other market goods down to Menyamya Station. One can only imagine what they would have gone through during this long four-month drought, especially with the Kotai River running so low.

But the timing of the road reaching Tsewi could not have been better. Just as the drought hit and the river became difficult to navigate, the road had already reached them. Because of the road, our people have continued to survive and transport their coffee and market goods despite the extremely low water level of the Kotai River.

This is a clear reminder of how important basic infrastructure is to our rural communities. A road can mean access, opportunity, survival and hope. ❤️🙏🏽
