Young and visionary leader Steven Halimbu Tege is taking the initiative to bring real change to Halimbu Council Ward and Hayapuga. His heart is to see children and young people have a better future through education, from Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary, and TEVET.

He encouraged the people by saying, β€œDo not wait for others. Start with the little you have. If you make the first move, others including government will see your effort and come to support your dream.”

With the small resources and money they have, the people are already starting to build for the future of their children and the next generation. Even small contributions from families are coming together to make a big impact.

He also said Ronny Angu has promised to support the Halimbu community by helping to build TEVET, Secondary, and Primary schools. But the community has chosen not to sit and wait they are starting for themselves with what they have.

Steven Halimbu Tege also thanked Ronny Angu and the Hela Provincial Government for their support, vision, and commitment towards education and development in Halimbu and Hayapuga.

He further added that real development starts when people unite, take responsibility, and believe in their own future. When a community works together, even small things become big change.

Today we start small, tomorrow our children will benefit from what we build together. Unity, action, and vision will lead Halimbu and Hayapuga forward.πŸ’ŸπŸ«‘

A day to remember - where tradition speaks louder than words and culture shines through every decoration, feather, and face paint. Men in traditional bilas standing proud, honoring their ancestors and keeping custom alive for the next generation.

A powerful moment of unity, identity, and respect - showing that our culture is not just history, but a living pride we carry today.πŸ”₯πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡¨πŸ’Ÿ

Launch of Hela Provincial Tax Office & Staff Housing
Friday, 24 April 2026 | Tari, Hela Province

The Internal Revenue Commission (IRC) has officially unveiled its Hela Provincial Tax Office and staff accommodation in Tari, marking a key expansion as its 23rd office across the country.

The opening was led by James Marape, joined by Philip Undialu, alongside national leaders and invited guests.

Now operating from the Hela 2 Building, the new office brings vital tax services closer to the people of Hela, improving accessibility and efficiency. Acting Commissioner General Sam Loi highlighted that the initiative focuses on practical service delivery, with nearly half of IRC’s tax operations workforce now positioned in provinces to better serve communities.

This achievement continues the decentralization drive introduced in 2019 under Sam Koim, reinforcing IRC’s commitment to stronger outreach and improved public service nationwide.

A meaningful step forward for Hela enhancing access, strengthening systems, and supporting local development.πŸ’Ÿ
