A fatal road accident at Kawi Kami, Kudjip in Jiwaka Province* has claimed 3 lives this afternoon.

The incident occurred at around 4:00pm today, Monday 17/08/2026 Emergency responders and locals rushed to the scene,were dathhs. Been confirmed

Details about the vehicles involved and the cause of the accident are yet to be released.. Police are currently at the scene conducting investigations.

STATEMENT ON K200 MILLION SME FUND FRAUD
Tambul-Nebilyer Electorate.

My fellow Papua New Guineans,

I wish to put on record that Hon. Baki Dakri Baki, MP for Tambul-Nebilyer, is currently serving as a Minister Without Portfolio. Despite this, he is not above the law and should not be insulated from police arrest and investigation into the alleged K200 million fraud involving SME funds that were disbursed under his watch as the former responsible Minister.

I am reliably aware that the Police Special Investigation Board (SIB) is now handling this matter. The file will be examined before arrests are made.

I further understand that one arrest has already been made in Mt. Hagen — of a lodge owner who allegedly received K500,000 from the proceeds of this fraud.

I also call on police to move swiftly. The so-called "million-dollar babysitter" and the wife of the Minister, who have both been implicated in this saga, must also be arrested and questioned including other Members of parliment implicated and other special SME owners disbursed with the funding.

I therefore appeal to the Police Commissioner and the SIB to act without delay and to arrest the Minister responsible first. No one is immune to the law.

Papua New Guinea is watching. No stones must be left unturned. We want to see the proceeds of crime be reimbursed to our small table mamas and farmers at home.

There cannot be two separate laws — one for ordinary citizens and one for politicians.

Let justice prevail. Arrest the culprits now.

Common understanding is that how could someone with low GPA could be selected. They upgraded from approved institutions like Joe Wemin maintained below so, the question is when was the government amended that in floor of parliament and is these institutions maintain above is not recognised by the department of Education to upgrade the gr12 GPA. Students need an answer?

*Subject: Immediate Investigation & Reinstatement of Mr. Alois Longrie MBE*

For 47 years, Mr. Alois Longrie MBE gave his life to the children of Southern Highlands.

A young man from Iwaie village, East New Britain, he arrived in SHP in 1979 at age 23. He never left. He taught in Erep/Nipa, Nipa, Mendi-Munhiu, Lower Mendi, Kagua-Erave, and Wakwak. He restored run-down schools. He served as Head Teacher, Senior Teacher, and alternate PEB member. His last post was Headmaster, Marara Primary 2022.

He taught generations. Many of SHP’s current professionals, leaders, and parents sat in his classroom. Some were even children and grandchildren of his first students. His slogan to every child was: *“Nothing in this World is free”* - a lesson in hard work and dignity.

Mr. Longrie was never retired. Never suspended by TSC. Yet since 2021 he has been removed from payroll. For 5 years, a 70-year-old man who built SHP’s education system has lived at Wakwak ERC with his wife and 11 children, with no salary. He continues to appeal to PEB SHP and Education Division, but receives no answer. His appeals cite false reports and statements from a now-suspended Headmaster of North Mendi Primary.

*This is not justice. This is neglect.*
