Jak Bobby Gallery

Jak Bobby Gallery Quasi Virtual Gallery where nobody dare say humbug — unfortunately. Jak Bobby is a Bacolod-based multi-disciplinary artist.

Dabbing into various mediums like photography from digital to analogue, to printing, writing and painting. Mainly influenced by street artist JR and David Hockney’s approach, his body of works are more focused on observing the plurality of an individual through portraits while his street photography is based on flanerie — an act of idle strolling. His mediums are always a mix up mostly on wood pan

els, canvas, prints and goes as far as oils to acrylics to pen and inks. He was recently found doing a Sunday show in Magic 106.3, previously had a solo show for Fringe Festival in Manila (Fringe Manila 2018); also, previous sightings include Leap Second Residency through Laboratory Spokane, dabs into filmmaking and is currently working on his mentorship program for an online art class under MoMA; the rest is about him chiming in local art scene, hoping for local Urban Sketching chapter, made shows and exhibits (also a member) for Terrapinta and whining online while doing his personal projects.

When we said ' ', it meant we got to keep going.
And this year, along with other art groups around the city, we decided to make a unified directory (at least for most of us) to have you all updated as to what and where the events are. We're trying to keep the word as our ethos and hopefully as we move forward for more years celebrating . *
If you happen to know any events around the city that we can include on the list, consider this your invitation. After all, this is . This is a growing list and we will try to update this from time to time. Also, check out our friends at Rekindle PH for the complete directory of events.

So, cheers to , and hope to see you around! Kitaay ta!

*Given, you have yourselves vaccinated and as much as possible observe caution when going out, you know the drill.

Last year we had some fun long before we all hunkered down in our own safe spaces and tried to stay healthy (which is our top priority tbh).
This year we can’t pass without ever doing something to celebrate the arts, artists and our frontliners.
Also, out of the lot, we thank the PK team for this recognition. Me, the group behind me and my partner wjo worked hard to get this show done is one of those worth keeping for the books.
But as they say in my place, and a reminder that this is not the end of things after all, PADAYON!

Where they could get employment they pushed into any kind of business, the most dangerous and the most liable to infection; and if they were spoken to, their answer would be, 'I must trust to God for that; if I am taken, then I am provided for, and there is an end of me', and the like. Or thus, 'Why, what must I do? I can't starve. I had as good have the plague as perish for want. I have no work; what could I do? I must do this or beg.
— Daniel Defoe

this year is hard. in any way possible. turns out you can stay and work at home but you got no other choice but live with it. that you can watch a tv series but is that even the telly you watching at or binge over an online series? guess it is the latter. or tiktok videos and online live shows and video calls can’t help but give the least amount of comfort for whatever yearnings you got. that eating your comfort food doesn’t give enough comfort anymore and that there are people struggling to get through a meal most days. so much to ask close to my third decade of existence. I’m told I will only live to see the fourth but I don’t mind extending given the situation. like this took five years off my will so better compensate lest I wallow. in the end, it is the people who stayed with us in times of despair. in moments of solitude you have yourself but those times you were listened to and the moments you were asked to tell how you are doing in such time is not easy given all of us got our own ordeals to live. hope anyone reading this get to hold on to that hope while braving through their silent battles each and every day until we’re all through. I’m so proud you’ve made it this dar. stay safe and healthy!
