Our first time going out of state since we got married… our first long road trip together, and a journey that meant so much more than just traveling. We went to visit my mother-in-law, my husband’s mom. And what made this trip truly special wasn’t the miles we traveled or the places we saw it was seeing her smile. My husband drove for hours despite the struggles he has with his eyes. At one point, he simply said, “As long as you’re beside me, I’m okay.” Those words will stay in my heart forever. I realized that sometimes the most beautiful journeys aren’t about where we’re going. They’re about who we’re going with, who we’re going to see, and the smiles we get to bring along the way. Our first out-of-state adventure as husband and wife became a beautiful memory of love, courage, family, and gratitude. We traveled many miles just to make one special person smile—and that made every mile worth it. Thank You, Lord, for keeping us safe and for giving us another beautiful memory to treasure together.
