1. Check real-time travel advisories before booking
Rules and entry requirements can change quickly, so always check your destination’s official government travel page before finalizing plans.

2. Go cashless—but keep a little local currency
Most countries are now heavily cashless, but still carry a small amount for markets, taxis, or emergencies.

3. Book flexible flights and accommodations
Opt for tickets and stays with free cancellations or easy rescheduling—this is a lifesaver when plans shift unexpectedly.

4. Use AI-powered translation apps
They’re now so good they can handle real-time conversations—perfect for navigating markets, restaurants, and local transport.

5. Travel sustainably
Bring a reusable water bottle, avoid single-use plastics, and consider train or bus travel for shorter routes to cut carbon emissions.

6. Secure your devices
Use a VPN on public Wi-Fi and keep backups of important documents in cloud storage in case your device is lost or stolen.

7. Pack smart with multi-use clothing
Choose versatile items you can mix and match, and include light layers for unpredictable weather.

8. Learn basic local etiquette
A few words in the local language, knowing tipping customs, and understanding cultural norms can open doors and avoid awkward moments.

9. Keep a “digital and physical” emergency kit
Digital: passport scans, insurance, emergency numbers.
Physical: basic first aid, a power bank, and snacks.

10. Prioritize experiences over souvenirs
Memories last longer than items—invest in activities, local food, and cultural immersion.

Singapore Airlines

Effective April 1, 2025, passengers are prohibited from using power banks to charge devices or charging the power banks themselves during flights. While travelers can still bring power banks in their carry-on luggage, usage onboard is not allowed.

EVA Air and China Airlines

As of March 1, 2025, both airlines have banned the use or charging of power banks during flights. Passengers may carry power banks in their carry-on bags but cannot use them onboard.

Air Busan

Following a fire incident on January 28, 2025, suspected to be caused by a power bank in an overhead compartment, Air Busan now requires passengers to keep power banks with them at their seats, prohibiting storage in overhead bins.
