Masked Rider, General Trias

On this new normal, everyone here in the province of Cavite is highly encouraged to wear a mask. It's nice to see a large percentage of citizens complying, knowing that they do care not just for themselves but also for the people around them.

Dragonfly, Amadeo

I may be a big guy but I honestly am afraid of bugs, especially those with wings. But this one sure looks beautiful so I braved myself and got my phone camera and took a shot of it. It was just resting there and allowed me to take a photograph of her. Isn't she lovely?

Does anybody know what type of Dragonfly this is?

Cavite Economic Zone

Located on a large area that is shared by Rosario and General Trias, the Cavite Economic Zone is the bread and butter of hundreds of thousands of employees. A lot of manufacturing plants and offices are housed in this zone. At the moment, most office personnel are still working at home, but the manufacturing plants are on-going operations, some with safety precautions like shuttles and protective gears provided.

Nipa Jungles, Indang

This photo is not very old, in fact, I took it just 10 years ago with my already digital camera. But I don't know why it just finished this way, and when I saw this on my old files, I thought I'd share it to you all. The town of Indang is located in the upland part of Cavite, and up until now, it has maintained quite a big portion of it's natural rainforest and jungle areas just like this one. Most of them are privately owned and it's very nice that they choose to maintain it's jungle feel even if they build their houses within them.

Antonia's Garden, Amadeo

The bird's nest fern is an epiphytic type of fern that grows on big or old trees. In Tagalog, it is called "dapo" or literally means "to perch" or "perched". It is a beautiful tropical plant that reminds me of lush rainforests that when added to gardens, will instantly bring a very lush feeling to it. They grow leaves that are so long and broad which almost resembles banana leaves.

Have you seen these species of plants near your area?

You can drop by Antonia's Garden along the highway at Brgy. Banay-Banay, Amadeo, Cavite. You can also visit their page at Antonia's Garden and also on their Instagram Account .

Bridge over Santa Rosa, Noveleta

As this river divides two barangays (town/city sub-division smaller than the city) in the A bridge above it connects the two. Without this bridge, people from the right side have to travel more than 5 kilometers at the town proper just to go to the other side. At the same time, people going to Manila from the upland towns cut a big portion of their travel time because of this link. Aren't bridges wonderful?

Antonia's Garden, Amadeo

This morning, I went out again for the third time (Yey Me!) But yes, I was just in the car until we arrived in our destination in Amadeo, a city in Cavite known for a more milder climate all year round. The city has lesser population than my native General Trias, so people are very much compliant to rules which only had less than 10 active cases since the Pandemic began.

We visited a friend's garden shop, Antonia's Garden, and got a few pieces for my room and my bathroom. I am so happy to have bought a sanseveria and a couple of philodendrons. You can check their plants for sale on their facebook account at https://www.facebook.com/AntoniaGardenPH/

I think another reason why the pandemic is not much affecting the area is because of it's closeness to Nature. It may sound crazy but I really think that the more a place is closer to nature, nature itself will give extra protection to its inhabitants.

T oday is Father's Day in a lot of countries, the Philippines being one. Families gather at homes and restaurants but a lot more less in these times where there are no restaurants available for dine in customers. But luckily, a lot of home-buddies start their ordering businesses for those who don't cook.

Lucky and blessed, my father did received these gifts from my cousins. A tray of spaghetti in tomato sauce from my cousin Marianne and a tray of Alfredo pasta. Thank you so much!

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers, dads, papas, and daddies in the world!

Kalayaan, Kawit

Filipinos love Fastfood, I guess it's one big thing we got from the American culture that greatly affected our society since a century ago. In this junction in Kawit, you can see three signs that would welcome anybody driving by the Centennial road. Take your pick, McDonald's, Burger King, or the Filipino superchain - Jollibee.

Pink Skies, General Trias

Ever wonder how skies can get this pink hue to it, well I do. I know that the setting sun has to do something about it but why don't it color it this way every single dusk? Well whatever the reason is, it's not just a blanket of color, it is an instant mood that covers anything in its view.

Photo from my father's friend, Uncle Ed Pacia

Back in the 70's, this photo was taken on a grand meet up day at the beach of the Cavite Sector of the Cowboy Radio Communication Inc. I asked my father (the one in the red polo) what this group is, he said that they are one of the first (if not the very first) Citizen Band Radio Service group in the province of Cavite. My father said a lot of his friends from here in General Trias started their friendship through the Cowboy CB group. This maybe taken half a century ago but they all look so young as if it was just taken yesterday! Most of these men are either still living in Cavite or now in the United States.

Special Thanks to Uncle ED Pacia for letting me share his amazing timeless photograph.

"Please Stay Inside Your Vehicles At All Times" says a Sign on the Burger King drive-thru that me and my sister got our favorite four cheese Whoppers from. This was taken two days ago when I decided to go outside when she asked me if I want to and I got the courage to say yes. Aside from masks and distancing, most drive-thrus here asks customers to drop their bills and coins on a basket instead of handing it by the palms to the attendant.
