This is on the *North Gate (Yong'an Gate 永安门)* of Zhengding’s city wall.

- It’s the main tower on the north section of the Ming Dynasty city wall. Great views over the old town from up there.

Zhengding City Wall
That stone warrior statue is one of several placed along the restored wall walkway. The red tower in the background is another gate tower on the *Zhengding Ancient City Wall* — likely near the *East Gate (Ying'en Gate 迎恩门)* or *South Gate* area.

*About Zhengding:*
Zhengding is 15km north of Shijiazhuang and is packed with history. It’s got one of China’s best preserved Ming Dynasty city walls plus 4 pagodas, 8 major temples, and 24 historic structures. The wall here is over 24km around, built 1,600 years ago and rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty.

How to tell:
1. *The phone number*: 13231377529 is a Shijiazhuang mobile number. Hebei numbers start with 0311 or 132/133.

2. *The shops: "潮鲸电玩部落" _Chaojing Arcade_, "华蓉烘焙" _Huarong Bakery_, and "老苑炸串" _Lao Yuan Fried Skewers_ are all known stalls in the Zhengding night market area.

3. The location: This street food area is right outside the south side of Zhengding Ancient City, near Changshan Road and Yanzhao South Street. It’s where tourists and locals go after visiting the city wall and temples.

What you’re looking at:
- 老苑炸串*: Famous local fried skewer stall. Menu shows 铁板鱿鱼 _grilled squid_, 铁板鸭肠 _duck intestine_ 10元 for 30 sticks, 铁板豆皮 _tofu skin_ 5元.

- Next door: 长沙臭豆腐 _Changsha Stinky Tofu_ and 生蚝扇贝王 _Oyster & Scallop King_ — classic Hebei night market combo.

- Background: 麻辣香锅 _mala xiangguo_ and other hotpot/BBQ spots.

Zhengding’s night market runs every evening and gets packed after 6pm. It’s about a 10-min walk from the South Gate 长乐门 .

How to tell:
1. The characters: You can see "通州" carved above the archway, and the blue plaque on the tower says "古呈高照" - both are associated with Zhengding's west gate.

2. The architecture: That 3-part tower setup with the main hall + two side pavilions lit up with red lanterns is signature Zhengding. It’s one of the most famous night views in Hebei.

3. The wall: Same Ming Dynasty grey brick city wall as the South Gate you asked about earlier.

About Zhengding:
Zhengding is an ancient town 15km north of Shijiazhuang. It has 9 national protected cultural sites and is nicknamed "City of Nine Towers, Four Pagodas, and Eight Temples." The city wall here dates back to the Northern Zhou Dynasty and was rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty.

How to tell:
1. The tower style: 2-story gate tower with 5 bays, grey brick, and those distinctive red window panels with white circles. That’s classic Zhengding.

2. The wall: Zhengding’s city wall is one of the best preserved Ming Dynasty walls in northern China. It’s massive grey brick with crenellations like you see here.

3. The gate name: 长乐门 “Changlemen” means “Gate of Lasting Joy” and it’s the main south entrance.

- *Zhengding* is just 15km north of Shijiazhuang city center
- It’s an ancient town with 1,600+ years of history and was once one of the three great towns of north China
- The wall dates to the Ming Dynasty, around 1430s
- There are 4 main gates, but the South Gate is the most iconic and photogenic
