Another place to discover in Al Wathba πŸš΄β€β™€οΈ

Al Wathba is not only known for its lake and camping area. It also has a beautiful cycling track in the middle of the desert, around 40 to 50 minutes from Abu Dhabi City.

The track is illuminated, so you can enjoy cycling in the early morning, around sunset, or at night. Beginners can choose the 8 km or 16 km routes, while more experienced cyclists can challenge themselves with the 20 km, 22 km, or full 30 km route.

You can bring your own bicycle, but if you do not have one, bicycles are also available for rent at L’OxygΓ¨ne beside the track. We asked the staff, and the rental was AED 50 per hour for adults. You can choose any available adult bicycle you like. For children, it was AED 35 per hour.

You do not have to be a professional cyclist to enjoy this place. Choose a distance that feels comfortable, wear a helmet and closed shoes, bring enough water, and enjoy the peaceful desert view.

We actually discovered this place by accident while stopping at ADNOC Oasis to buy some drinks and food. For now, I only took a few photos and videos, but I will definitely come back wearing my cycling outfit and arrive earlier so I can watch the sunset while riding.

And that will be my next adventure here. πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸŒ…βœ¨

A starry, starry night at πŸ“Al Wathba Lake 🌌

If you are a tourist, expat, or local looking for a peaceful escape from the city, this place is worth visiting. You can camp in a tent or RV, enjoy a picnic or barbecue in the designated areas, walk or run around the lake, go cycling, play volleyball, let the kids enjoy the playgrounds, or simply sit and admire the view.

There are also viewing decks, a pontoon walkway, parking, and restrooms. Bring your food, water, camping essentials, and rubbish bags, especially if you plan to stay overnight.

I recommend visiting during the cooler months and arriving before sunset so you can enjoy both the golden sky and the stars at night.

Abu Dhabi is so big, and every time we explore, there is still so much more to discover. πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ͺ✨

Asa maniwang day🀣

But on a serious note, an elevator in a school is more than just a convenience. It supports physical accessibility by helping students with disabilities, injuries, or mobility needs reach their classrooms and other facilities safely and independently.

In our school, teachers and school leaders have elevator access through their IDs. Students are given access only when they have a physical disability, injury, or mobility need.

Not every school has an elevator, but every school should work toward removing physical barriers and providing fair access for every learner.

That is why I am thankful to work in a school that takes accessibility and inclusion seriously. πŸ’™πŸ€

New school year, new faces, different cultures, and so many hopes for the year ahead. Starting it with a grateful heart, positive energy, and of course… a little Spanish Latte to keep us goingπŸ€ͺ

Teaching here in the UAE means being in a classroom full of diversity. Our students come from different cultures and backgrounds: Arabs, Asians, Americans, British, and many more.

As a Filipino teacher coming from a different cultural background myself, it can definitely be challenging. Different personalities, different ways of communicating, different expectations, and VERY different energy levels. πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

But that’s also what makes teaching here so wonderful. You learn to understand children beyond your own culture. You become more flexible, patient, observant, and creative. And the students also learn from one another. The classroom becomes a little world of its own. 🌍

One thing I’ve learned? You have to be proactive ALL THE TIME. πŸ˜‚ When you have this much diversity, personality, curiosity, and energy in one room, classroom management is not something you do after something happens. You anticipate, redirect, engage, and keep them busy before the chaos even gets a chance. πŸ˜…

Challenging? Definitely.
But rewarding and never boring? Absolutely.

And honestly, these kids teach us just as much as we teach them. πŸ₯°πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ͺ🀍
