JUAN PONCE ENRILE PASSES AWAY
The longtime political figure and former Senate president has passed away. He was 101.
His daughter, Katrina Ponce Enrile, announced his passing. "It is with profound love and gratitude that my father, Juan Ponce Enrile, peacefully returned to his Creator on November 13, 2025, at 4:21 p.m., surrounded by our family in the comfort of our home."
She shared that it was her father’s wish to take his final rest at home, and that the family was “blessed to honor that wish.”
The family requests privacy as they grieve and said details for public viewing will be shared once finalized.
Enrile’s political career spans more than half a century: he served as defense minister under Ferdinand Marcos and played a key role in enforcing martial law, later becoming a central figure in the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution. He later served several terms in the Senate—including as Senate President and remained an influential—often controversial—voice in national politics for decades.
