🇫🇷 Armée de l'Air et de l'Espace A400M in Manila!

Last night at 8pm, French Air Force's F‑RBAW arrived from Guam, bringing some serious European muscle to Ninoy Aquino skies.

The Airbus A400M Atlas is a four‑engine turboprop powerhouse introduced in 2013, capable of hauling up to 37 tonnes of cargo while bridging the gap between the C‑130 Hercules and the massive C‑17 Globemaster III.

France has 24 A400Ms and 3 more on order, making it the second‑largest operator of the type worldwide, just behind Germany’s Luftwaffe with 53.

Seeing one here in Manila is a rare treat. Would love to see the Atlas parked together with a C-130 Hercules, a C‑17 Globemaster III and a C‑5 Galaxy all lined up according to size.

British Airways Airbus A350 as seen from the Sky Bridge

It was my first time passing through Hong Kong International Airport's Sky Bridge and also my first time seeing a BA A350 in person.

Opened in November 2022, this architectural marvel connects Terminal 1 (T1) with the T1 Satellite Concourse (T1S), eliminating the need for shuttle buses during boarding and disembarkation. Stretching 200 meters in length and rising 28 meters (about 92 feet) above the ground, it is the world’s tallest and longest airside airport skybridge. To put its scale into perspective, it’s tall enough for an Airbus A380 to taxi beneath it!

Wouldn't mind spending an entire day here again and get a different perspective for my planespotting photos.

A look inside Clark International Airport's new airport terminal.

Earlier this month, we flew out of Clark for our trip to Hong Kong—eager to experience the newly opened terminal.

Inaugurated in May 2022, the terminal building draws inspiration from the three iconic landforms surrounding the province of Pampanga: Mt. Arayat, Mt. Pinatubo, and the Zambales Mountain Range.

The different roof elevations echo the dramatic silhouettes of the nearby volcanic mountain landscape. The gray floors throughout the airport take the color of “lahar” or volcanic debris from Mount Pinatubo. And a distinct shade of blue, leaning toward turquoise, symbolizes the water formation on Mt. Pinatubo crater lake—echoed through the glass structures situated around the terminal.

I truly enjoyed exploring the new terminal, and I’m looking forward to the completion of North–South Commuter Railway project, which will make journeys between Clark International Airport and Metro Manila even more seamless.

A view of Hong Kong International Airport from the Ngong Ping 360 cable car.

Finally had the time to post here again after taking a break for over a month to prepare for this trip. I’ll be sharing some airport snaps from our vacation and catching up on my photo backlog over the next few days.
