Numbering in the thousands, workers and progressive organizations led by Kilusang Mayo Uno, marched along España Boulevard towards Recto Avenue as part of a nationwide action in commemoration of Labor Day, May 1.

During an initial program held at Recto Avenue, workers carried various calls including higher wages, stronger labor protections, the imposition of a wealth tax, and the dissolution of excise and value-added tax. The mobilization proceeded with a march along Kalaw Avenue where a program was held, after police forces barricaded the march from proceeding to the U.S. embassy, condemning the US-Israel war of aggression on Iran. Demands for justice were also made for the 19 individuals slain by military forces in Toboso, Negros Occidental.

The action culminated with a burning of an effigy titled “Trio Delubyo” depicting President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., U.S. President Donald Trump, and Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Progressive groups headed by the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) marched along Kalaw Ave. in commemoration of 'Araw ng Kagitingan', condemning the US-Israel led aggression on Iran, April 9.

Organizations denounced US imperialism, linking instigated conflict as a driving force behind staggering oil prices and the country's economic issues, and urged the Marcos Jr. administration to put an end to the Balikatan exercises, and pro-US policies such as the Visiting Forces Agreement and Mutual Defense Treaty, among others.

After the Bayan program concluded, tensions arose as masked demonstrators expressed their indignation towards recent government corruption scandals through a violent clash with state forces in front of the Mendiola Peace Arc, earlier today.

The exchange was momentarily dispersed after police forces used tear gas, which affected both protesters and other individuals within the vicinity.

ANG PRIDE AY PROTESTA!

Progressive groups, led by National LGBTQI+ alliance Bahaghari, marched in protest action initiating the first-ever Stonewall Philippines, June 26.

The mobilization forwarded the campaign to pass the SOGIESC Equality Bill together with other pro-people reforms, as well as condemned the ongoing genocide of Palestine and the US’ unjust bombing of Iran.

Originally headed towards Mendiola, the group was barred along Recto Avenue by forces of the Manila Police District (MPD).

NAKABUBUHAY NA SAHOD, IPAGLABAN! P1200 NATIONWIDE!

In observance of Labor Day, workers and progressive organizations headed by KMU marched from Liwasang Bonifacio towards Mendiola demanding for a P1,200 national living wage, and better working conditions, May 1.

Faced with barbed wire barricades put up by the Manila Police District (MPD) along Recto Avenue, the mobilization clashed with police forces leaving some protesters injured, and preventing the group from proceeding towards Chino Roces Bridge.
