There's a type of magic that happens in the grayscale. What was overlooked in the heat of the moment found its voice in the shadows.

There’s a specific kind of life that only reveals itself when you slow down enough to notice.

In the heart of Barangay Ermita, we weren't just taking photos; we were chasing fragments of life in its rawest form. Children laughed beneath the bridges, vendors braved the midday heat, and strangers exchanged glances that held entire stories.

Every corner felt alive. Not with noise, but with presence. There was a distinct grace in the grit: beauty tucked away in the rust, concrete, and the quiet resilience of people finding joy in the chaos.

Sharing these streets with the visualstoryteller ph community made the experience even richer. We all saw the same scenes through different lenses, yet we were connected by the same goal: to witness and understand. It was a reminder that photography isn't just about the shot; it’s about being there.

Ermita gave us more than a collection of frames. It gave us a pulse. It reminded us that the streets are always speaking, we just have to be patient enough to listen.

Some places don’t ask to be photographed. They ask to be felt.

Braving the midday heat to catch the shifting rhythm of Cebu City. There’s a new story on every corner if you’re looking close enough. Grateful to be hitting the pavement and picking up tips from Juan Carlo De Vela today. ☀️

Spent the morning at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral focusing on the real heart of Palm Sunday: the people. From the sidewalk vendors meticulously weaving lukay to the crowd raising their fronds for a blessing, the energy here is always so raw and real. Fun fact about those blessed palm branches, churches actually collect them later in the year, burn them, and use those exact ashes for the following year's Ash Wednesday. It's a pretty beautiful, continuous cycle.

Here are a few of my favorite moments from the crowd today to kick off Holy Week. 🌿
