Oway Pelia (Ofelia Arbiol), a resilient and dedicated woman, has reached the age of 70. In her younger years, she worked tirelessly, selling fish at our town's market. This job was physically demanding and exhausting, but Oway Pelia's determination knew no bounds. Despite the hardships, she continued with her work, ensuring that her earnings were enough to support the education of her five children. Her perseverance paid off, as all her children successfully completed their education. Among them is one of my former students, who has achieved remarkable success and now holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering. Another one of her children has embraced a spiritual path and is now a priest. Oway Pelia's story is a testament to the strength and sacrifice of a mother dedicated to her children's futures.
